FEATHERED NEST FRIDAY

It's Thursday already!?
Where did the time go this week?
It's incredible just how quickly the Summer days and weeks have disappeared.

Cullan starts Junior year on Wednesday ...
and Ansley starts 8th the following week.

Uhmm...
Whatever happened to AFTER Labor Day for school to start up?
Starting school in the middle of August just feels wrong
on so many levels.

I want to squeeze in more beach days
naps in the chaise
more lazy mornings sleeping in late.

Usually I have it in June...
right now, I am looking at dates in September!

  4. Oh, it really does seem wrong to have school start in August! Ours doesn't start until after Labor Day and I'm so glad for that. I feel the same way about it all going too fast but you have gotten way more done than I have my friend! :-) Thanks so much for hosting and I'm off to visit some of those features!

  6. Courtney, I'm retired now, so going back to school isn't on my calendar these days. I agree though - what ever happened to starting school after Labor Day?

  9. Like your photos with the clock. I have been favoring clocks a lot. Wonderful features too. I have a college freshman, a junior, and a first grader! That doesn't seem right, they just grow up too quick. Have a great rest of the summer and thanks for having us over!

  11. Hi Courtney! Oh, I do agree with you - school starts too soon each year! My kids are grown and married now but I know they would want to wait a few more weeks.

  29. Courtney you are so right. I doesn't seem right to send kids back when there is so much of summer left. In our areas it is not uncommon to let school out early b/c the air breaks.. here's a thought finish the summer out! Thanks so much for the party.

  30. I'm with you Courtney! Summer has vaporized into the atmosphere! Where did it all go? But I've been having a great time. The links look great! I hope you enjoy some down time. Thanks for the fun!

  33. What a great post, love the clock in the vignettes. We don't go back to school until after Labor Day, but that still seems to be creeping up on us!

Tks for hosting a fun party :)

  34. I feel the same way about summer. I want to squeeze every last drop of it. Our area goes back right after Labor Day. A little more than 2 weeks..Thank God!
I love how you had your clock set at 8 am. too early. Actually our high schoolers are out the door at 7 am. I know that is really early! thanks for hosting this linky and all your inspiring vignettes.

  35. School already? That would be awful. We don't start until after Labor Day, thankfully.

Guess what I got today?!! If you said a book, you'd be correct! Ohhhh, I love it. Thank You :)

  42. Thanks for hosting a wonderful linky, I've lost count of the blogs I'm now following from here, fabulous inspiration.

  43. Oh I am totally with you on the school thing --it is CRUEL to send a child back to school before Labor Day. that 3-day weekend is the traditional end to summer, and the timing is perfect.
Shame on the districts that yank kids out of summer to go back mid-August.

Around here, it's still after Labor Day... although my kids are long out of public school.

Lovely images! and thanks for hosting, as always.
Best wishes for a wonderful summer weekend -- Cass

    So fun to find
    you at Debra's...
    I was in the
    process of adding

    you left a comment.
    Serendipity? I
    love this post as
    I am also feeling

  47. Hi Courtney...

Ohhh...I know what you mean, my friend! I really don't know where the summer has gone to. We haven't been this busy in such a long time. I also hear ya about school starting back in August...eeeks! When I was a kid, we always started school after Labor Day...of course, we didn't get out until June sometime too!

Your photos are gorgeous, my friend! They make me "long" for the beach. I used to spend alot of time at the beach when I lived in south Texas. We are a long ways from water now! Hehe! Thank you so much for showcasing these beautiful party posts from last week...they truly are insirational! I will have to go and check them out! Also...thank you for hosting this sweet party! I'm so glad that I could join in this week...even though I am running really late! Hopefully things will settle down soon and I can get back into my blogging routine! Hehe! I hope that my note is finding you and your sweet family all doing well, Darlin'! Do take care!

    Warmest summery wishes,
