The little guest cottage has been getting some Christmas cheer
and there's just the Kitchen and a little more
and there's just the Kitchen and a little more
to share with you before sharing some of the vignettes and rooms in our house.
The kitchen out in the cottage is small on size but big on charm.
One of my favorite things in this kitchen is that old antique cupboard that we pulled out of the basement of our house. Mixed with the newly added base cupboards from Lowes~ it was perfect for this little space.
Topped with cedar branches from our yard with a few pinecones ~ I love the greens dotted
with a few collected white pitchers.
A fresh wreath hangs above the vintage stove
and had it's red velvet ribbon replaced with a simple white and red glittery striped ribbon
from the Dollar Tree.
Don't worry- the stove isn't being used right now or through the Holidays.
I would not place a wreath above a stove that was planning to be used for cooking.
Just a couple pieces of red transferware to the shelves
and a chubby live tree in a basket by the island and the kitchen is dressed for the Holidays.
The stool that was in my grandfathers workshop wears it's original paint and seat
and is ready in red and green for Christmas.
I love it and love that I think of him every time I see it.
Even though I am feeling much more quiet in the decorations in our house
I am really enjoying the red and the more traditional look the little cottage is getting this year.
Hope your week is off to a great start!

ReplyDeletegreat job as always! love your cottage. we have a tree that we thought was a dead cedar in the beginning but it turned out to be a larch tree, a conifer that is not evergreen, gets 'very' tall. i wish it smelled like a cedar but it doesn't. i like your cedar idea so i think i'll go on a cedar hunt, lol. i like your decorative touches atop the wall cabinet also. you've given me a lot of good ideas, thanks!
