Entertaining~Inspired Outdoor Brunch

A few favorite things for outdoor entertaining
 a well weathered farmhouse table
 simple white dishes
pretty touches of copper
and pale pink blooms marching down the table

All mingling together,
they each play a part in creating a beautiful and inspired table setting.

I love entertaining outdoors- especially during the hot Summer months where it
stays warm enough to linger outside late into the evening.
We are fortunate living here in California
to be able to enjoy being outdoors and entertaining outdoors most of the year

So when I have a few girlfriends over for an evening
we almost always end up dining out under the stars
listening to the crickets play music from the pond next door.

An outdoor table setting is always inspiring to me-
whether it is a dinner or a brunch or even
just a casual get together to enjoy nibbles and cocktails,
Whatever the occasion- I always plan the table first.
The setting, the dishes, the flatware, the flowers.

My go-to favorite?
White dishes.
I love white dishes for so many reasons
and they are so easy to dress up or down
which makes them perfect for a special occasion as well as an everyday occasion.

Like these dishes with a beaded detailing and soft scalloped edging.

I love how thick and chunky these are and their subtle details are just beautiful.

Another favorite?
I have been crushing big time on copper recently
and when I saw these gorgeous, hammered copper Moscow mule mugs
I was in so much love instantly.

Seriously- that beautiful copper & patina
mixed with pale pink flowers & white dishes?

That is pretty much perfection mingling together right there, friends.
They are absolutely perfect for adding that unexpected touch to the table.

For sweet treats for a lunch or brunch
I like to keep it simple with a few fresh bakery goods like blueberry muffins
and it is always a treat to have them looking pretty
on the table while waiting to enjoy.

A  marble serving platter that can be topped with a glass dome is
perfect for sweet treats or wedges of cheese and keeping them
free of stray bugs that would like to join in

Since it is pretty all by itself
it can also easily play a part in the beauty of the table setting.

{Refreshments}
A favorite iced tea or lemonade topped with a sprig of mint
or a cocktail if you prefer, of course
Those copper mules are perfect for eye candy and for serving drinks in.

{Tip}
Place the copper mugs in the freezer
before serving chilled drinks
and make sure to add enough ice to your beverages
to keep them looking frosty and oh so charming

If you follow me on FB or Instagram,
then you know that I have even used these mugs as little vases for the flowers

and it might be one of my favorite uses for them.
There is just something about that copper and pink together
sigh...

No matter where you set your table for your next get together
by simply bringing in a few key pieces that help to make your table beautiful and inviting
it creates a perfect setting for any occasion.

I partnered with Birch Lane to create a Summer Brunch table setting
to share with you.  If you would like to order the pieces I have shared here for your next party
or everyday special occasion
  you can find them here:

There are also a couple other pieces that had not arrived at the time the photos were taken
will be sharing those with you soon as well- I think you will like them.

Now, go forth and entertain!

Happy Monday!!

I was compensated to share Birch Lane and some of what they have to offer with you
but all designs and opinions are my own, of course.

  6. Love dining al fresco and I am super glad that copper is back in vogue -- I have collected copper for a long time. Now it's time to polish it up and let it star. I love your table setting and you are lucky to be living in an area where you can dine outdoors.
