Summer means long lazy days,
late nights under the stars
toes in the warm sand at the beach
loads of sunshine
and an abundance of blooms.
The gardens and outdoor areas simply come to life during the Summer months
and those hydrangeas and roses and pretty plants that have been waiting patiently
for the perfect weather- start blooming away.
And the blooms don't stop outdoors of course.
As you know,
I am kind of in love with flowers on anything and everything
They bring a romantic touch to whatever they touch.
Like this pretty bedding.
Crisp white linen covered in pretty pink blooms and edged in flirty little ruffle?
It is perfect for a French cottage bedroom bringing just the right amount of sweet charm.
And if bold and beautiful isn't your thing -
the other side has a dainty print that is just as pretty.
I love how crisp and fresh it makes the room feel and at the same time,
how it mingles perfectly with an
antique chest of drawers wearing a gorgeous shade of vintage gold
and covered in all.of.those. original hand painted details.
I found the chest of drawers as part of a bedroom set years ago on craigslist-
you might recognize the matching headboard behind my bed
|courtesy of Casa Chic Magazine|
It was in my daughters room for the longest time
but she wanted something different and a little more on the 'modern' side
and so to the guest room it went.
(I will share a close up look at the set soon.)
On the other side of the bed
a little something covered in chippy gold and lots of carvings and gesso detailing.
And all of that patina power and charm is packed into a little, tiny table
that is perfect for tucking into a corner anywhere,
but definitely perfect for a small bedroom nightstand.
Just a peek at the cottage bedroom today
but coming your way later this week-
