Can I just say…
High Point Market was amazing as always.
So much to inspire. So much that I fell in love with. So much that I now need to bring home and change pretty much everything in my house. Which kind of happens each Market, really.
And so many ‘trends’ that I noticed
and that I am totally crushing on.
Today, I am sharing a few of the things I took note of in the showrooms we visited on the Design Bloggers Tour at High Point Market
These things caught my eye because they were each beautiful in different ways
and for different reasons.
And we definitely seemed to notice certain trends appearing that are going to be making a huge splash in design soon.
Trend: Soft and feminine
Century always has something that catches my eye- and this tour had several of them.
Dusty lilac and floral damask linen?
I fell head over heels in love with this fabric- and this furniture.
Absolutely stunning.
Shabby Chic style is always a favorite and is a style not a trend-
but that signature soft and feminine look was definitely something that was on trend at market.
Loved the blush linen and this new oversized amazing sofa… so comfortable.
Beach house vibe and soft and feminine- loved this set of chairs
and love the bright and playful colors in the Dana Gibson line here as well-
and that it is upholstered in Crypton Fabric.
Crypton fabric is a special stain resistant fabric
that I will be sharing more about soon.

Trend:
Bold and Beautiful
Bedding is taking on a whole new level of amazingness with bold and beautiful colors
like this set seen at Eastern Accents.
How about a bit of bold and retro?
This chartreuse sofa at JoyBird is perfect for those who love vintage modern.
And maybe a bit of bold and going for the gold?
Badgley Mischka is not just clothing and shoes… their showroom was full of gold gorgeousness.
Trend:
Velvet
Velvet. Was. Everywhere.
And I loved it.
This red velvet and gold bed at Nathan Anthony?
So decadent and retro glam.
And this gold velvet sofa at Theodor Alexander is definitely a statement maker
and is super comfy. I enjoyed more than a few minutes sitting on it while learning about
this showroom.
Can’t leave out this navy blue velvet deliciousness at Bunny Williams Home.
So good.
Trend:
Dark & Dramatic
The pieces that caught my eye at Emporium Home were bold and beautiful with a little bit of drama.
I love how they mixed with the softer side to bring an edgy look.
Trend:
Classic
Of course, even in a world full of different style and trends- one thing always stays on trend.
That is Classic.
Classic chairs like these simple Louis style chairs
found at Artefama
Classic porch and patio furniture like this wicker look rocker
that reminds you of the old southern styles at Universal Furniture
Simple lines and size to fit every size home –
these chairs at Huntington House are a perfect choice.
And classic and timeless pieces like this wheat sheaf table and chairs at Bernhardt–
serious love.
Phew!! Lots of pretties- and coming your way in my next High Point Market post-
my absolute favorites from the tour
a couple of my favorite showrooms
and what I am brought home with me- and what is on order.
I hope your weekend was wonderful- and thank you for your kind notes about my knee.
All good over here- and off for a jog this morning
(and making sure NOT to slam the door into my knee again.)
😉
Happy Monday everyone!
Disclosure:
I was compensated to share about the Design Bloggers Tour and High Point Market with you
but all opinions, and crazy love of styles and designs are my own.

This is so interesting, since I can't get to these shows. But it's even more illuminating with your analysis.
I worry about any of these things looking old and tired in a few years. I love velvet and covered a piece with it, and now I'm wondering whether I did the right thing. Same with subway tiles–I wanted something timeless, and if you look at the Paris Metro, it's still pretty gorgeous. And we have to go with what's available in stores, unless we're able to have bespoke fabrics or tiles made for us. I just hope velvet is one of those trends that will still look fresh in 10 years because I don't want to recover anything for at least that long!

Oh I definitely think velvet is something that will always be a classic and timeless choice- trending or not. And we literally saw velvet popping up in almost every showroom whether it was a piece of furniture, throw pillows or something small like a bench- and in every color you can imagine. It is gorgeous. Enjoy your velvety goodness!! 🙂

Taste of France, I agree with Courtney that you chose wisely with the velvet. My parents have two french chairs from the 70's in a beautiful blue velvet. Almost everyone who has seen them has loved them. So beautiful! I'm not falling for much of the new stuff I'm seeing out there lately, but I do love the velvet and linen fabrics:)
