I received these darling little french inspired cloths as a gift from my sweet friend Lisa a little while ago and I instantly thought of making them into simple french cottage pillows. Lisa sent them over to me from Faded Plains– such beautiful things over there!
I already had one pillow form that was pretty much the exact size needed,
the other I had to make do with- note the bumpy pillow!- but they both came out so charming!
Though they were meant to be kitchen towels,
they were certainly pretty enough to be something different
& they are so delightful with the french wording.
They are crisp white with vintagey distressed black lettering.
So simple but enchanting, especially when mixed with a sunny yellow or rich red floral.
I imagine they would look gorgeous on a bed full of beautiful white.
Serene and sweet.
I love the simple style of them with just the wording speaking for itself –
no trims or fringe to compete.
I was inspired to add a setting for breakfast in bed…
My favorite red transfer ware mixed with some flea find silver and a wee vase
of little hydrangeas.
Delightful!

Courtney! Those pillows are so darling and I was thinking about how I want to go with that look when my daughter graduates to a "big girl" bed soon! They would look beautiful with the buttery yellow tones going on in her room now. Thanks for the great inspiration as usual! 🙂

The pillows are so pretty. They look great mixed in with the floral. I would love to try making some myself. Perhaps with some words in Italian instead of French 😉
