It's no secret...
I love Peonies...
The layers and layers of ruffly petals.
The shabby colors and absolutely luscious scent.
Yes... I love them.
The other day at the grocery store,
I walked towards the flower aisle to take a peek at what they might have when I saw them.
Those little balled up buds that look nothing like the flower when it blooms.
My heart started to race just a bit- I was so excited that they were in.
There were several wrapped bunches of them in beautiful
soft pink, bold raspberry pink, red and whites as well.
I wanted to bring every last one of them home with me
but I restrained myself... well...kind of.
;)
I would love to have a beautiful bouquet of peonies in every room
but this bunch of them went into the kitchen.
Their shades of pretty pink were perfect on the breakfast table
with white china and pale linen walls
~ Home Goods ~ and they inspired a little change for the Summer in the kitchen.

Mixed with a couple vintage plates, the new dishes are
perfect and I am loving the crisp fresh white look.
With a new saying for the vintage chalkboard and the peonies~
they are perfect.
Hitting the ground running this week~ it's a busy one over here...

ReplyDeletePaul
Peonies are my favorite too! My house is full of them right now. Wish the season for them was longer!
ReplyDeleteI love peonies too. I have some "fake" ones in my home because I'm too cheap to keep buying real ones. Ha! I just have to tell you that the way you style your photos is unlike any I've seen. Are you sure you're not a professional stylist? It's always a pleasure looking at your blog and seeing your gorgeous photos. They are just like out of a magazine. Love that little breakfast nook in your kitchen. Your chalkboard measage is so cute too. Those messages are good reminders to the kids. Ha!
ReplyDeleteEverything is great. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....This is so lovely! Thanks for such beautiful inspiration on a Monday morning! May yours be full of bliss~
ReplyDeleteI would have peonies in every room too if I could. Love the look.
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers in a room make me happy and these look GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful and are my favourite also....My mom and grandmother grew the most gorgeous ones but though I've tried several varieties I can't get them to grow here in the south east Ga.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty breakfast spot with the white plates and Peonies!! I have a white Peony and a pink Peony and for a very short time I have enough for all the rooms in my very small beach cottage:) Chalk board is super cute!

ReplyDeleteThere is just no flower as beautiful as the peonie, is there!!! Yours are gorgeous, Courtney!!
ReplyDeleteHi Courtney!!
ReplyDeleteHow I love to receive your emails!! I love the peonies!! Especially the color, my favorite, PINK!! I guess these would be third in line of my flower likes, after lilacs and hydrangeas, but, any flowers in a room makes it that more beautiful as yours always are.
I love the white plates!! What a find!! They do brighten up a room in summer.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures!!

Ahhhhh......you and I WERE separated at birth, Courtney! Heaven's Walk is filled to the brim with peonies right now, too. :) Their fragrance almost puts me in a catatonic state. lol! Even when they start wilting, their ruffles just get rufflier. (don't know if that's word or not....hehehe!). I have to agree with everyone else. You have a GIFT of styling and creating and design, dear girl. A serious gift. I am so glad that you're willing to share your ideas and your gorgeous home with us each week!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU SO MUCH for drawing my name for Nina's book, Courtney!!! I am SO geeked right now - and can hardly wait to fall right into those glorious pages. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! ♥

I love peonies too! I just planted 2 white ones this spring so hopefully next year I will have a bunch of blooms to cut!
ReplyDeleteThose peonies are gorgeous, Courtney! Love the colors. I like how you did that picture in a black and white look, but the flowers have color. I've got lots to do here this week ~ hoping hubby is not working from home again tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHi Courtney!!
ReplyDeleteI love the peonies. They are third in line of my love of flowers. Next to Lilacs and hydrangeas...Oh wait...I missed one, the pink roses, how could I forget!! The full abundance of petals in the peonies is amazing!!
I love the white plates. What finds!! On a sunny day they sure add to the brightness in a room and I also use a chalk board in my "French Quarter". These touches make a room so unique.
Have a great week!!

Beautiful as always. Love the plates. I decided to add plates in my breakfast room, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the stuff you said on the chalkboard, especially "just eat your dinner and be thankful"! My kids didn't appreciate my cooking so much when they lived with me, now they would kill for a home cooked dinner! The peonies are heavenly, and your house always charms the pants right off me!
ReplyDeleteCindy
I have peonies in my garden and the scent is SO heavenly! I love them too! I don't see plate hangers on those white platters! How did you hang them? I have some that I can't use hangers with and would love to display them too!

Blessings, Lorraine
