Do you have that one room or space in your home where you indulge
a little bit more of your girly side?
My office is that place in the house.
It always seems to be dressed in florals and pinks and with more feminine touches
than the rest of the house and dressed for Fall- it is definitely feeling a bit romantic in here.
It's a small room that is actually originally one of the bedroom in our home
and in the Spring it got a bit of a makeover with a very subtle pale peachy paint
and new vintage inspired wood plank shutters for the windows
It's a place where there is a chicken wire vision board on top of the fireplace
that I like to clip little messages, fabric pieces or notes on
The DREAM letters have stayed for now- they are my favorites.
The vision board is made out of an old gilded frame and leftover chicken wire from another project
I have had this vintage mannequin for several years and for Fall
she is wearing a thrift store find white shawl from the 30's
and a simple dried rose garland
A pair of used pointe shoes and vintage tulle skirt are draped on the wood shutters
A favorite piece in here~ my great grandmothers china cabinet
A couple years ago it got a little makeover with chalk paint and I am actually debating a little change again
You can see more about it and the amazing piece that inspired it here
Right now, the cabinet holds stacks of dishes
gorgeous glassware and other tabletop pieces and is topped with
mostly bouquets of my favorite dried roses with just a few dried hydranges to fill in
Just a few
sweet, natural and romantic changes for Autumn.
I am joining a fantastic group of bloggers who have been sharing

Everything is so beautiful Courtney!
ReplyDeleteYou are giving me "chills" here, girl, I just found your blog and I JUST hung a "chicken wire" in a gold frame with a small "rural" painting in the front...yikes...and just put "chicken wire" in the back of all my upper glass cabinets...(I spray painted all of the wire antique metallic copper.) Missing "souls sister" perhaps... :) franki
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn! Love the iron fireplace...it looks so familiar because I have one too! I found mine about 20 years ago, it came from Europe all rusty,I had it powder coated white. I used it in my Mercantile store! Now it is in my garden house. I wish I could put a chimney on it and use it!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing the pretty things you create in your pretty space!
xo,
Gail
