Autumn mantel decor~ Velvet pumpkins

Little velvet pumpkins~
how I love you...

Autumn, Velvet pumpkins

With your sweet softness & subtle colors
you speak to my romantic autumn side perfectly.

French Style Chairs

Oh how I love French style chairs.

With all those carvings
and itty bitty details that might be small
but that have a huge amount of charm.

September weekend musings

Weekend musings

A pinch of this and a touch of that
and a whole cup of random all rolled into one post.
Something like pale orange and pink roses
a pretty pumpkin haul
and paint splatters as a fashion statement.

Feathered Nest Friday

Welcome to Feathered Nest Friday!

Happy first week of Fall!
Here's what I shared this week~

5 ways to use vintage bottles in decor

5 ways to use vintage bottles

Something as simple as a few glass bottles with a couple blooms
can be a perfect way to style a mantel, shelf or table without overwhelming it.

I am not big on overly decorated spaces
so for me- simple is best
and that is one of the reasons I love bottles for decorating.

Early Autumn Outdoors

When I think of Autumn decorating

hydrangeas in olive bucket patio Autumn

I think of things like chunky pumpkins
mixed with gathered bits from nature.
Like freshly dried green and gold hydrangeas

Weekend view~ Pumpkins & Autumn favorites

I have been gathering acorns and bits of moss
and baskets of big pinecones
and saving them all for Autumn stylings.

But something is missing.
Something that says falling leaves,
brisk morning walks in fresh Fall air
chunky sweaters and tall boots with jeans
and maybe even cups of cocoa on the patio...

Something like

Feathered Nest Friday

Welcome to Feathered Nest Friday!

I hope your week has been going well! Can you believe it already the middle of September?! I am knee deep in Christmas photography and design right now- but am trying to get some Autumn on at the same time ( yes, I feel a bit design chaotic) and will be sharing soon.
Here's what I shared this week~

The latest crush of mine~ Rose Gold-  I am obsessed and I'm okay with that.

Entertaining~ Whole wheat rustic pear tart

Freshly picked pears tossed with cinnamon
and a little sprinkle of sweetness

and then baked in a crusty whole wheat pastry dough?

 Yes, please.

Crushing on~ Rose Gold

I have been having a little bit of a love affair recently.

I was minding my own business when we met randomly
in the kitchen section.

Weekend Musings

Happy weekend everyone.

It's a lazy kind of Sunday over here.
The kind where you sleep in just a little bit longer in the morning
and enjoy an extra cup of coffee while waking up and getting your day started.

Inspiration~ September Hammock

What is it about a hammock that invites afternoon naps in the warm sun
and evening conversations under the stars?

Feathered Nest Friday

Welcome to Feathered Nest Friday!

I hope your week has been going well!
Here's what was shared this week:

Ticking stripes & a pale blue pitcher that made me a little giddy

Ticking stripes & pale blue

This past weekend, it was all about details over here.

I have been planning Autumn decor and Christmas decor
along with lots of ideas and vignettes for upcoming collaborations
and it truly is the details that make something stand out.

Like the scalloped edging on a plate or the perfectly faded color
of ticking stripes on oatmeal linen
or the charming color on a pitcher mingling with sweet Summer florals.

DIY~ Fabric Strip Garland

You know how some projects are so simple and easy for you to work on  that you could
just sit down and do them while doing anything?

My great - grandmother used to crochet.
She loved it.

Autumn Abounds

Welcome to the Autumn Abounds link party!

Yesterday, I shared a simple Autumn Vignette inspired by a few green hydrangeas
that I clipped from our yard

and today~ it's your turn to share!

Feathered Nest Friday

Welcome to Feathered Nest Friday!
It's been a busy 1st week of September over here!
Here's what I shared this week:

These pretty green Hydrangeas and a blog hop

Hydrangeas~ Simple Autumn vignette

Denim and florals
paired with an old weathered orchard ladder
with freshly clipped hydrangeas

Yes, please.

DIY~ Radiator Screen Lanterns

I love beautiful metal lanterns with pretty patterns & details.
They are so perfect for lighting steps outdoors,
for a little ambiance on your patio
and even for bringing indoors and displaying on the mantel.

Even better- these are so.simple. to make with just a few things from Lowes.

Inspiration~ College room makeover

Can you believe it is September already?
How did that happen?
Where exactly did June, July and August go this year?
September means Autumn is coming.
Cool nights and crisp mornings
and colorful changing leaves on the trees.

It also means back to school.
