Last week,
I vacationed in a most glorious beachside room.
Blue & white perfection, with billowy floral curtains
fresh flowers and even a gas fireplace for a little bit of warmth
to mix with the fresh ocean air.
It was like being transported to a relaxing country house in the Netherlands
and yet…was in California.
Have you ever stayed somewhere while on holiday
that just fit you exactly perfectly to a ‘T’?
(disclosure- you might want to grab a cup of coffee- because this is definitely a photo heavy post)

From the outdoor areas and fountain
to the vintage decor and mix of antiques
to the french doors and private patios of old brick
to the wine & cheese served as a treat in the evenings.
The Inn at Depot Hill in Capitola, California
is a place I could move into and be pretty darn happy.
is a place I could move into and be pretty darn happy.
It is just steps from the beach and the quaint town of Capitola
Capitola is a charming little beach town with colorful houses and lots of California flavor.
And an abundance of sunshine and beach which is
where you will find me with my toes in the sand soaking up a little vitamin d
( ahem…I would be the girl with the black and white beach bag filled with peonies taking photos)
😉
We have been coming to this Inn in Capitola for several years now.
My husband brought me for the first time for our Anniversary
and I fell in absolute love with it.
(Side note- I totally wanted to buy this marble champagne bucket)
The Inn is actually a historic building and was once the train station (or Depot)
and is now a charming B&B with 12 different themed rooms.
Some of my favorites are the Paris Room (of course)
which is wrapped in beautiful black and white toile
and the Sissinghurst which transports you to the English Countryside
and envelopes you in florals and a dreamy canopy bed.
and envelopes you in florals and a dreamy canopy bed.
I also had the chance to peek in a couple of the other rooms this stay-
the Red Baron is dramatic with deep red walls and a private balcony
and the relaxing Kyoto room that has a private bamboo garden just outside the door.
This time, we stayed in a new favorite room of mine
The Delft room in celebration our anniversary.
Do you remember a few months ago when I shared just a peek at this room?
Well, this time, I am giving you the grand tour.

Do you remember a few months ago when I shared just a peek at this room?
Well, this time, I am giving you the grand tour.
French doors, plush feather beds, soft linens, vintage mingling with new
and look at.that.charm.?
One of my favorite things about the rooms at the Inn at Depot Hill
are that they each have fireplaces and plenty of room to relax- indoors and out.
Every detail is gorgeous
The bathroom even has a charming blue and white wallpaper.
And lots of marble.
You know I am loving that.
And it is a bed & breakfast… so let’s talk about the food.
There is something so indulgent about having food brought right to your room.
This was the most incredible almond french toast I have ever tasted.
Ever.
After a day at the beach, we relaxed that evening,
and enjoyed wine and cheese and a soak in a jacuzzi tub on the private patio
(Can I just say, pretty sure I need this at my house.)
The next morning,
another amazing breakfast and this time we brought it outdoors to the patio.
The Inn at Depot Hill is just one of several Inns by the Sea that are
in Northern California coastal towns. So if you are planning a trip-
there are several great choices to stay at.
(This was the view from our patio when we stayed at the Cypress Inn in Half Moon Bay.)
I hope you enjoyed a closer look at my favorite spot to stay in Capitola by the Sea
and if you decide to reserve a little getaway and experience it yourself,
tell them I said hello.
🙂

Happy Wednesday!
I was compensated to photograph and share my favorite B&B with you
but my crazy huge love of the Inn at Depot Hill & Capitola are all my own
of course.
