Ahhh Carmel- you are so pretty.
With sandy white beach and storybook cottages
it is easy to see why Carmel is a favorite vacation getaway spot for travelers from all over the world.
I promised to take you along with me on my travels and share the best places to stay and play- and today it is all about Carmel by the Sea and a charming inn.
Last week, my husband and I spent a couple days relaxing and rejuvenating in Carmel
Last week, my husband and I spent a couple days relaxing and rejuvenating in Carmel
and we stayed a beautiful b&b.
The Carriage House Inn is a charming little gem located right in the heart of Carmel
and within walking distance to the storybook downtown
and that gorgeous sandy white beach.
If you have never been to Carmel by the Sea-
it is truly a town that feels enchanted.
You will find shops and homes that look like they popped
right out of a children’s fairy tale.
It is a treasure trove of hidden walkways, shopping
and charm.
Not to mention…
there might be that famous white sand beach
and Pebble Beach Golf Course.
It is charming all around –
I even made a few new friends outside a coffee shop.
If you haven’t been yet, Carmel is definitely one of those places to visit and to visit often
and today I am sharing a perfect Inn for you to stay in when you do.
I was thrilled to be asked to take a trip down to Carmel to see firsthand
what the buzz about The Carriage House Inn and their newly renovated rooms was about-
and let me tell you- the buzz was right- they are gorgeous.
Whether you prefer a more masculine theme
with rich, jewel tones
or a light and airy beachy theme with softer colors and pops of blue.
Light. Bright. Airy.
Flooded with natural light and fresh sea air.
I loved so many things about it but if I had to choose a favorite element I think
it would be that ceiling and the beams.
Incredible.
Another favorite feature of mine was the window seat.
I think every time we were in the room, I sat there and gazed out the window.
The window is framed with an
absolutely stunning peaked open beamed ceiling that I really
think I might need somewhere in my house.
Note:
I seriously want a feather bed every time I stay with the Inns by the Sea m.
One of the things that I love about staying in a bed and breakfast or Inn
is that there is that personal touch that you don’t get with a chain hotel.
Each night, they serve wine and cheese in the main building
and the hostess Lori was such a treasure. She definitely thought of anything and everything
and really enjoyed visited with the guests at the reception each night.
It was like walking into a party filled with new friends and laughs.
If you prefer-
you can also take your wine and cheese in your room and relax by the fire since
each of the guest rooms has a fireplace for cozying up to.
In the morning,
they will bring the breakfast of your choice off the menu
right to your room.
Breakfast in bed?
Why not.
They won’t judge you being in your pajamas.
😉
A side note:
My husband recommends the vegetable &spinach quiche- he loved it.
There are even 2 person spa tubs in some of the rooms
which is so perfect for soaking in after a day at the beach.
I think that they pretty much thought of everything
that you might need.
So, if you are traveling to Carmel by the Sea
the Carriage House Inn is wonderful
and you will love their attention to detail and how they take care of you.
They also have several other properties in northern California if you are traveling around a bit
and if you want some more Inns by the Sea eye candy-
take a peek at my post about my favorite room
at the Inn at Depot Hill in Capitola –
the Delft Room.
Thank you Carriage House Inn and April for another magical stay
I can hardly wait to come stay with you again soon.
For more information about the Carriage House Inn
and how to reserve your own stay-
you can find that HERE
I was compensated to photograph and share this b&b
but my crazy huge love for the Inns by the Sea and Carmel
are all my own of course.

Hi Courtney,
I have been talking with a few bloggers about Carmel my home town for many years before I made a move to Southeren Calif.
I plan to visit on a getaway with my daughter my sister and her daughter, and getting some serious shopping in, as well as finding my soul again. It's such a european feel in the US.
And the beaches wow and amaze in beauty. I painted that beach years ago as a still life reminder of what Carmel added to my days.
A beautiful post…. Perhaps we will bump into each other on the streets of Carmel 🙂
