Last week, I ventured into the city
for a fun blogger and customer event with Balsam Hill.
And since I was showing a simple 5 minute technique for adding fresh to faux for a new look –
that meant a stop at the SF Flower Market was in order.
For those who have never been-
the flower market is like Disneyland for those of us who are obsessed with flowers.
It is row after row and vendor after vendor of fresh flowers and greens.
I was a little worried I would fill my entire car up
but since I arrived late and I had only about a half an hour to shop
I was quick and got right down to business.
There is always something amazing to be found when looking for fresh flowers
and there was no shortage of inspiration- or treats.
I picked up fresh greens like eucalyptus, white berries, red berries
and eucalyptus pods.
And then I meandered over to the roses…
Garden roses were in abundance-
and for just $15 a bunch,
I indulged in my love of them and brought several bunches home with me.
I mixed and mingled a few bits for the event and then
brought those 2 buckets of fresh goodness home and started to play.
And I promised you a closer look at the garden rose that I used in the Thanksgiving table
setting from last week.
The thing I love about garden roses?
Everything.
Yes, every. little. thing.
Those layers upon layers of ruffle goodness
gorgeous vintage colors
and of course, their intoxicating scent.
Look at how ruffly good they are-
can you see why I went a little crazy for them?
You cannot beat them for their amazing amount of beauty and charm.
For the Thanksgiving centerpiece last week~
I mixed them with fresh eucalyptus and berries
a few peonies and small spray roses.
I am mildly obsessed and wish I could freeze them.
It is probably one of my most favorite mixed ever.
And you will be seeing them popping up over the next several weeks
as I am styling and enjoying them all over the house.
😉
For now,
I am off to work on a few things Christmasy
and this evening,
I am doing a little shopping of those Black Friday.
Of course, I am not venturing into the stores-
I am staying home
nice and warm and perusing them online.
A few favorites to shop every year?
Nordstrom– extra 25% off through Monday
Target– 10 days of savings
Macy’s- extra 20% off with code THANKS

I will also share some of my favorite inexpensive treats for gift giving this season
as well as one of my Christmas trees this weekend
and next week-
the first of several holiday home tours is coming your way.
It’s that busy, busy, busy bustling time of year
and I love it!
🙂
Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

The pairing of fresh eucalyptus and garden roses is a sensory sensation – beautiful and fragrant! This combination reminds me of my home state of California and the awesome abundance of these lovelies.
