Happy weekend everyone.
I hope your weekend has been going well!
It has been a busy working weekend over here- with several large projects on the calendar right now we have been working away behind the scenes to get them done. And yesterday, it was all about paint…but today, it is all random for the weekend view.
Sprinkles
Yesterday, out of the blue, rain drops showed up on the forecast and on our newly painted project. The good news? We wrapped up the paint project just in time and then enjoyed listening to the rain drops falling on the metal roof on the patio last evening. Though, sprinkles in May is definitely not usual over here in California- it is much appreciated and is keeping us looking nice and green.
Celebrate
My husband and I celebrated a big anniversary this week. Our story began when we were both just out of H.S. and over the years- we have raised 3 babies, lived in 3 different states, renovated a farmhouse on 120 acres and our cottage here in California and we really kind of grew up together. It hasn’t always been easy and there have been ups and downs, but 25 years seems of putting up with each other, working together and loving each other is pretty neat …and we have big plans on the list of goals and dreams for the next 25 years and beyond.
Character & Patina
I fell in love with a piece that arrived yesterday that is full of character and patina. Those carved corbels… that worm- hole wood and that soft weathered wood patina. Sooo good.
But… it isn’t going to look exactly like this for long.
I have a piece of marble and big plans for this beauty.
Weekend Work
A few magazines to inspire. Paint chips galore. And fresh peonies just because… why not?
I am working on a few things that involve magazines, print, and inspiration- and of course all things romantic. It is always fun to thumb through magazines and see what inspires you – and a couple of these were talking to me big time. And so… the re-decorating continues.
In other random news…
You know how when you are in a hurry to get something done
and you are thinking about the 25 different things on your to-do list for the day?
Picture me…
driving over to a trail to go for a quick run (notching on 1 of those things)
and hurrying to getting out of the car with my ipod in one hand and the keys in the other
and slamming the door…
into my knee.
Of course, after hobbling for few minutes… the days jog was off
and the bruise on my knee reminds me to slow down just a bit.
Color choice update for that thing I was debating last week?
I placed the order. But what did I go with?
Well, I might have surprised myself and it might surprise you.
And now the waiting for it to arrive begins.
My favorite blog post on the big www this week:
and
2 favorite blasts from the past from FCC?
This vintage piece I used as a towel holder…
and
all about that copper crush… which is going strong.
and which I might add… has grown.
A box just arrived from High Point Market with all kinds of goodness in it-
including copper.
Will share more soon.
Happy random weekend everyone.

Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary! Slowing down is a must, but I can see you with all sorts of inspiration running through your mind with copper, paint and flowers. Is the paint a bolder color you normally don't use?
