Today is all about simple touches of spring in the little cottage bedroom… with favorites on repeat.
Spring is in the air… and I am so excited about sunshine, green grass and evenings out under the stars.
And of course, all those gorgeous fresh flowers that will be growing in the garden and filling containers in the house.
And to celebrate spring- I’m joining these sweet friends for a fun tour today
Today we are out in the little cottage sharing a snippet of the little cottage from my book.
In the little cottage- spring is simple.
Just a few changes, like crisp linens and a simple styling on the mantel – which you can imagine what that means… flowers.
I don’t do too much for spring decor unless it involves flowers…which I kind of think are perfect anytime of the year.
The reproduction French bed is called the Sophia and is from Eloquence–
available through The Bella Cottage or directly
The tufting, the gilding, the everything… so good and it makes such a charming
statement in this room.
On the bench- remnants from a busy day in the garden. A favorite denim shirt and market basket full of blooms just waiting to be arranged.
The mantel gets a sprinkling of spring- with fresh flowers. Sometimes simply laying in place if they are flowers that will dry to perfection like Larkspur-
or arranged in little vases and cups for a different look.
I love the cozy glow of the fire out here even in spring and summer. The little cottage has no forced heating or air conditioning (neither does our main home) and being that the cottage is sunken a bit more into the earth – it does tend to stay cool all year long. A fire brings lovely warmth & ambiance for guests.
Simple clippings of waxflowers and roses in vintage silver on the nightstand are a sweet finishing touch without overwhelming the area for holding books and trinkets.
It is simple and sweet on repeat out here and I think adding flowers to a room is a perfect way to welcome guests anytime of the year.
