I remember the day that we moved into our little cottage… I walked in the door and just stood in the living room and looked at everything.
Of course, there was all that work that stared back at me… but I also remember scratching my head with the simplest of things.
Like how to configure the living room/dining room/entry/family room… to be all of those rooms and WHILE it had a center fireplace on the long wall.
To be honest, it isn’t perfect even now- and back in the day standing in that big empty room full of possibilities – I asked myself a ton of questions trying to figure it all out. Some of which was were where do I put the seating arrangement and what kind of coffee table works best?
I could have really used some advice from my friends Melissa and KariAnne- and if you are like me- you will love that they just wrote a new book- and it is all about answering those questions. Over 100 of them actually.
Like how to choose white paint.
What type of rug should I get.
How do I get everything organized easily.
And Where do I put the couch?
This book is full of questions and answers- and lots of fun little stories and tidbits. It is a must have and I love that it is full of their hearts and charm and it is like having a conversation with a friend about a design question.
And they are also doing a huge giveaway to celebrate this new book!
Here are the other blog tour participants as well if you want to read more about their design dilemma questions and answers.

Thank you for writing your blog. I have your book and really enjoy looking thru it over and over. I like several colors and worry about going from one room color into another. I wish I could commit to just one but the dishes I collect range from red to blue to aqua. Any ideas what to do?

I can't wait to read this book! My husband and I are downsizing and minimalizing, but I still want a cozy, comfy, welcoming home. Our new place is small, so I want to know about the size of furniture, and how to keep things open without seeming bare.
