Welcome to the weekend view.
This, that and everything all rolled into one post. This week, it is all about garden planning, chickens, closets and wallpaper. Another week at home- how is everyone doing? Are you finding yourself busy and more settled into this routine for now? We are working away on things around the house, on a few print projects and basically keeping busy with daily workouts and walks with the Pea. And we might have tackled a closet clean out this week as well. Closet Cleaning When your husband who never wants to be a part of cleaning closets says ‘I am going to go through my closet and get rid of things I don’t need’ … you jump in on the project and help sort through those shirts, random socks and other things. lol.
We filled up a bag of things to donate and a bag to toss and that is one closet down and organized. Garden Additions Last week, 200 beet seeds went into the garden.
I have been literally obsessed with beets lately- sautéed with a bit of garlic, included in our green salads and even just with a bit of feta cheese and black pepper. Beets are one of those things that are incredible fresh- and they are so good for you. If you haven’t tried them fresh vs in a can- give it a go sometime. Just be careful of where you are cutting them and storing them- that beet juice and marble do not get along. Feathered & Furry Friends We have been talking about adding some chickens and other animals to the family for a couple years now- and have decided to finally tackle an old small barn/shed we have on the property and turn it into a chicken (and maybe goat or sheep or something ) house this spring. We had chickens when we lived in Minnesota -but it has been awhile. The barn building currently holds garden equipment and extra things for construction etc. but we are sketching some designs for a new look and new purpose.
via Santa Barbara Shed Design My husband grew up in Montana and they had animals of all kinds on their property- so I am leaving the basics to him – and adding those pretty design details. I will share the before and process as we get started. See a few favorite beautiful chicken ‘houses’ here Wallpaper love Another obsession that has not been filled in awhile-is my love of wallpaper. The original bedroom we stayed in when we first moved into this house had damaged walls which we had to remove. So, I wallpapered the entire room in a floral vining vintage style print.
It is under the added beaded board even now- and so… I am contemplating taking that headboard off and reviving that romantic look- or redoing it entirely. While I decide- I am sourcing some of the prettiest vintage looks and will be sharing more about what I find and where to get them here soon. Coming your way- First edition of Book Club- what to read while at home Simple fresh from the yard floral arrangement Quick change- a redo in 15 minutes for a new look Hope you are staying well.
