If you are like me- you might be wondering what to give your mom for Mother’s Day this year.
With a lot of stores closed yet, online shopping and virtual gifts is the way to go this year-and so I put together a few ideas for quick & easy treats- and most of them can be there virtually and on time.
A Virtual Gift Card
Always a favorite because someone can get exactly what they want. I love that there are so many ‘virtual’ gift cards now- it makes sending someone a sweet surprise gift as easy as sending an email. Think Amazon, eBay, Target or a favorite store of hers.
Flowers
Of course I am a huge fan of flowers- and I think a bouquet of flowers is a perfect way to brighten a day. My oldest son just sent me a surprise bouquet for Mother’s Day this afternoon- and instantly made me smile.
Places like the usual online shipping services may be able to squeeze you in for Sunday delivery- but I think Monday or any day would be good for a surprise bouquet.
These pink garden roses are from Grace Rose Farm– they smell Incredible and they do ship and have virtual gift cards available. You can use my affiliate link for 10% off -FRENCHCOUNTRYCOTTAGE10
A Cameo gift
Have you heard of Cameo? It is a place where you can ask a favorite celebrity, comedian, etc. to do a shout out or connect with someone. My sister who is currently being called ‘the favorite daughter’ just got my mom a Cameo from a celebrity she has a bit of a secret crush on.
She beyond loved it. And I will admit- that virtual birthday greeting from Jay Cutler was genius and far better than the spiralizer and cookbook I sent. So yep, I bow down. Taylor gets the favorite daughter award. 🙂 (and isn’t my mom cute?!)
Grocery Delivery
Oh that instacart has been on repeat over here and it is SO easy to use. You place the order online and they shop for you and deliver your food. I have even asked them to pick up some fresh flowers while there. And- yes- you can send groceries to someone else. A perfect gift to give mom a break from the shopping -and include a sweet treat or flowers at the same time.
A Favorite Book
I mean, books are always a wonderful gift. Cookbooks, novels, adult coloring books-you name it. You can send a credit virtually for mom to order her own- or send a kindle version electronically or even order that favorite book and present her with a note saying it is on the way.
I have been getting so many notes from readers who have shared that their husbands or daughters had pre-ordered my new book for them as their Mother’s Day gift. A great idea! And good news- French Country Cottage Inspired Gatherings which is on sale currently for just $31– and all Amazon pre-orders come with free photo prints and a bookplate.
You can register for those gifts in my shop here I also have signed copies of both of my books available in my shop – you can pre-order Inspired Gatherings there as well. let me know what special note to add and I will get it shipped off the week of May 26th when it releases. You can also see my post about 45 books to read now for more ideas.
A Group Zoom Greeting
We have been facetiming and group zoom chatting more than ever recently. I love that I get to see the kids and see their smiles even when we are all not together. Of course, technology can be an issue- but if your mom has a smart phone or a computer- you can call and help her get set up on zoom ahead of time. And then get your brothers and sisters on the same page for a time that works and coordinate a zoom chat with your mom- she will love it.
While there are dozens of virtual gifts you can send your mom or mom figure last minute- the most important one is really the gift of you and your time. Taking the time to call and chat for a bit is such a treasure. I know I love to hear from the kids and what they are up to, how their day was and what they are working anytime.
Happy Friday All.
