Welcome to the weekend view.
This, that and everything from the week all rolled into one post.
This week has been a bit of a quiet one- more behind the scenes than progress and photo shoots. But there are a few things in the works and a couple this and thats to share.
Garden
We have been working in the garden and adding a few new things for summer season. While the squash and tomatoes are growing in leaps and bounds- the kale is quieting down a bit in the heat. Which means a few changes and rotations are in store.
We had some specialty garden roses that arrived recently- but unfortunately-they seem to have arrived already dead. My husband grumbled but planted them just on the off chance they might perk up- if anyone has any rose booster tips to revive them if they are just dormant- I would love to hear them.
Little Cottage work
You know how it is when you start a project… it looks so cut and dry on paper and you think- it will be a couple of days. Yeah, not the case. We are going to have to delve into some bigger updates out in the cottage while we are working on the makeover.
There has been moisture wicking in along the front window banks and the ivy wall outside the kitchen window (and this bank of cupboard holding the white dishes) has decided to get a little bit unruly and do some damage – even on the inside of the house. Who knew that ivy was so strong that it could push through the tiniest of cracks and raise a ruckus? I am getting ready for the fresh paint – but will also have to tackle repairs and replacing the boards before I can wrap that part up and move onto the fun stuff. When we do finally get started- I will share some peeks along the way in ig stories. And I have a few mock-ups of the living room area coming along nicely which means we are at least one step closer in the final design plan.
Travel Dreaming
I am missing travel adventures this year just like most everyone else- those plans have been pushed back and are on hold. But that doesn’t stop me from dreaming about travel to come. We are not yet doing too much local travel yet either – so the bedroom to kitchen to garden traveling continues.
I actually got in the car and took a drive into the Sonoma area last week- and I realized it was the first time I have been in the car for over 5 minutes since March. I almost felt like I was new driver again. haha.
On the Table Giveaway-
Just a couple more days to enter to win a set of 4 Arte Italica Finezza Chargers. These are some of my absolute favorite dishes- and they are always on repeat over here. Find details and how to enter in this blog post.
Coming Up
Roma On that travel note- sharing what we did and saw in the less than 24 hours we stayed in Rome, Italy in the fall. Can you believe that the Rome post has been ready to go in draft this whole time? I completley spaced publishing it with all the changes in the posting schedule recently and just realized I hadn’t shared it yet. So, it is happening.
Garden We are setting up a quiet dinner and evening in the garden this week to do a little reflecting and planning for dreams in the future. So naturally a post about a garden inspired table is coming your way.
Wallpaper I have been shopping for some wallpaper for a guest bedroom project- and have been compiling a list of some of my favorite vintage inspired designs I have found so far.
Fresh Flower Christmas In June. 🙂 I worked on a Christmas tree last week- yes, in June. It was a fun middle of the year project that incorporated two of my favorite things- Christmas and Fresh Flowers. So coming your way is a peek at what I used and how that ‘nature’ inspired tree turned out- along with a video and tips on how to create your own.
Fresh Roses & Book Celebration Giveaway- coming this week.
Happy weekend all.

I am so disappointed that I missed purchasing your French market arrangement for Balsam Hills front door basket. I held off and held off – not sure I wanted to indulge so much. I even missed their sale! I hope that you will design another one for Balsam soon. I will keep I eye on their site.
