Welcome to the weekend view.
The weekend view this week is all about quiet days at the lake, project progress and design plans.
Lake Living
We escaped on a bit of a road trip to the lake this week. It is a couple hour drive- but worth it to find a lake that was not overrun with too many people.
We spent several hours just sitting and listening to the water & also did a bit of hiking. I have a hard time sitting and relaxing sometimes honestly- I start to think of all kinds of things I should be doing or working on. But it was a nice break that felt good after working on several big projects.
Painting the barn
One of the projects we worked on last week was updating the paint on the coop barn. It had some refreshing recently- but we needed to wrap around the back of the barn with a coat of paint- and so we worked away while the goats ‘helped’. Basically- they are sporting quite a few paint spots now. haha. Thankfully- the chickens mostly stayed away and are paint free.
Floral Holiday Dreaming
I am working on some fun projects gearing up for the holidays this week- and am pretty excited to get elements ordered and get started playing.
I am also planning on putting up a Christmas tree next week for a video project. I know I mentioned this a couple weeks ago but we are a tad behind getting this going- my daughters boyfriend was exposed while at work and they have been ordered to quarantine for at least 2 weeks. Thankfully- so far he has tested negative and in another week if he stays well- he should be able to get back to work and we can get to work on the videos. I will share some behind the scenes when we get started.
All about those bookcases
I have gotten so many questions and emails about the bookcases I shared last week- along with lots of design questions about the elements we used. I am planning on doing a post that will hopefully help explain the method to my madness and why I chose each piece, and how to find the perfect dark paint for your project.
Browsing
I am starting back up with that ‘browsing’ section of the weekend view and sharing things and people that inspired me. This week it is all about that delightful English Country Style
I am obsessed with everything at Hill House Vintage- and if you don’t know Paula- you need to and you will love her.
From gardens to layers of colors and blooms, the the most charming cottage in the English countryside- her home and style is a dream. She shares inspiration and beauty daily- and inspires that dream of living that quintessential English country life.
If you aren’t familiar with Paula and Hill House Vintage and love English country style- take a peek at her IG feed- you are in for a treat.
