This week- the weekend view is looking a lot like smoky skies and heat… with a bit of Christmas tree twinkle.
It’s beginning to look a lot like…
Yes indeed. I DO have a twinkling tree up in the little cottage right now. I am working ahead on a project for the holidays- and don’t worry- I will be taking it down and getting set up for fall before it stays up for a bit. But I am enjoying those twinkles and Christmas music sounds just as good in August as it doesn’t during the holidays. A quick iPhone snap sneak peek. 🙂
Smoky Skies
Hiking & Bike Riding
A quiet getaway that involved a mini hike and a bike ride around a lake is a good thing. Especially when you are feeling like you have been super cooped up with the pandemic and restrictions and then the smoky air.
We escaped to cleaner air in the mountains and spent the day enjoying a change of scenery and exercise.
Birthday
We celebrated my birthday this week with one of my favorite dinners & a bit of cheesecake. My husband made spaghetti squash and zoodles with sautéed garlic, tomatoes, peppers, etc. and Beyond Meat vegetarian Italian sausage. SO. GOOD. I will share the recipe soon for those who are looking for some vegetarian and vegan recipe ideas.
Thought I would share this fun toss back photo I found of my husband and I when we were heading out to an opera probably about 20 years ago. We are planning on virtual Opera this year of course- and for now- binge -watching several things. Up next- Yellowstone- which we are really looking forward to since my husband grew up in Montana and we lived there for awhile after we got married.
Fuzzy Chicks
Our postal lady came by this week and noticed the chickens out in the yard and commented that they had poodle heads. I laughed and laughed. And now, I can’t unsee it. 🙂
They are seriously so funny to watch as they wander around- and do you see a little someone watching us in that first photo?
I am off to get a bit of work done outside before dinner- have a great rest of your Sunday everyone.

LOL, I am laughing at the “poodle chicken head” comment! Our daughter and family raise chickens, sheep, cows, horses, rabbits, you name it they probably have it around the farm. Love the Christmas tree, I am putting up fall decorations today, even though feel like temp is over 100! Yuck Have a great week.
