The question every year when pumpkin season comes around… is it going to be bold and beautiful or the softer side for decor this year?
I tend to do both. But the bold and beautiful is usually just outdoors. Inside the house, I like seasonal decor to mesh with my everyday decor. That is shades of whites and neutrals, blush and natural softer colors- and that pop of orange just doesn’t fit as well.
So if you are like me and are thinking about which direction you are going in with autumn- today it is all about ideas for the softer side. The pastel or pale color pumpkins and blooms that you can incorporate right into your everyday look.
Muddy oranges & browns
I love these neutral, natural shades of the season. Think oak leaves and acorns and all things along that nature inspired palette.
This is a look that you can also incorporate some bold colors with greens if you would like.
Shades of white pumpkins
Loads of white pumpkins are on repeat over here often. I like to bring in various sizes and shades of white pumpkins- and branches, greens, berries in a muted palette. The key here is to add in some type of other color to keep the white pumpkins from looking too stark. For this styling- it was the pale dried peonies and touch of green on the flowers – as well as that brassy gold mirror that created interest and warmth.
Dried Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus is always a favorite here- and that is another easy way to incorporate dried branches and greens into your decor. Find Dried Eucalyptus here
Dried Flowers
This is all about those hydrangeas. Hydrangeas are a perfect flower to dry and use in autumn stylings- my favorites are dusty shades of mauve and greens for the season.
A dried wreath for a charming welcome
Cornstalks and a dried lemon leaf wreath are perfect for creating a neutral and welcoming front door styling. Find a similar look dried wreath Here
On the Patio
This styling does have a bit of bold and beautiful in the backdrop- but by keeping the pumpkins and accent colors soft- it really creates a beautiful place to enjoy evenings by the fire pit. You can see more of this Here
Bring in some wheat
I am a big fan of wheat for autumn and Thanksgiving – that beautiful golden color just speaks my language. Think stair rails, the kitchen island or anywhere you just want a soft and subtle look. Find Wheat Bundles Here
Go for the gold (and blush)
Gold is the perfect neutral to bring in that warmth when using naturals for autumn decor. And the best part is-gold really does work with all autumn colors whether you go with rich oranges or pastels. Find this wreath and garland HERE
I hope this gives you some ideas for brining in those soft and subtle tones for the season- stay tuned for bold & beautiful looks coming your way.
