Welcome to the weekend view.
From roses to goat shenanigans to goats napping in the afternoon- it is all random all the time over here on the weekend.
Garden Roses
So excited to see this beauty blooming away in the garden this week. This is an Earth Angel rose and is a favorite. I have a couple of them blooming away in the garden right now- we planted 4 more last fall and just ordered another 6 plants of them a few weeks ago. They flowers are so beautiful and romantic.
Climbing Roses
I mentioned last week that we planted a few Eden roses this year- and we also have the Cecile Brunners that bloom away and cover everything with those pretty little flowers.
I am working on some garden photography currently and this beautiful backdrop is beyond pretty.
Goat Shenanigans
My husband was working in the barn cleaning up and tinkering with a few things inside- and he heard a bit of a rustle. He looked at the chicken coop enclosure and saw that Clover had pushed through the wire trying to open the door and pulled it free from the frame- and had gotten her head through. I grabbed a quick photo as she seemed very proud of herself- though my husband was not impressed. We have now replaced the wire with another layer of stiff wire to keep her from trying to open the door. (the goats like to try to get in and steal the chickens food.)
More Goat Shenanigans
Of course after all that busy with the fence and Clover breaking in- Kev was worn out and needed a nap. Not quite sure how he doesn’t get a sore neck sleeping like this- but apparently he doesn’t. He rested for a bit before it was grooming & trimming time.
Linen Questions
Thanks so much for all of the replies about the linens and what you would like to see. You all were so helpful and gave me a ton of ideas. If you would like to jump in and give some feedback also- the questionnaire will be open for another few days.

Inspire: Love how these metal columns were transformed in a snap– they look so good!
Make: We are soaking beans as we speak and are making a 3 bean salad today to add to salads, or enjoy as a side. This recipe with the added celery looks good.
Decorate: Love these 7 tips for mixing decorating styles
Coming your Way
I have had a couple of questions about those dresses and which ones I am finding that I love. Waiting on a couple to arrive yet- (side note- what is with shipping delays right now?!) but I will share them soon and let you know what I love (or don’t)
Breaking down the new cutting garden and potting shed into a few posts over the next couple of weeks. I will share how we built the shed from scratch, how the plants are layered in the garden and what else we have added since I had photographed it. I will also share an updated look at just how much the garden has grown in already and what we are working on out there next.
AND the cottage kitchen- we are oh so close to wrapping that up now that we are back to inside the house projects.
Stay tuned for these and much more coming your way. Happy weekend all.

How do you keep Clover away from your flowers? I had a Billy Goat, Raphael Dushon Vincent van Goat (aka RAFI), who would have gone through those flowers in a heartbeat. He escaped from his pen one day and ran to the neighbor’s house and treated his potted plants like a salad bar. Is Clover just better behaved?

The bulk of our flowers on repeat (like I have been sharing recently) are in a separate area of the yard that we don’t let the goats meander into. But we do have roses on the front of the house and in areas they can wander to when they are out and about. We use Liquid Fence which keeps deer and rabbits away- and we figured the goats might stay away from it as well- which they have so far. That said- the cedar shingle siding? Kev loves to pull that off when we aren’t looking. haha. And Clover is a bit of a stinker- she did push that inner fence right off and try to climb through haha- but I do think all goats can be mischievous. They are also small goats- about to our knees so no bigger than a medium size dog really so maybe they don’t get into as much? Love your goats name- my sister named Kevin McAllister (for Kevin in Home Alone).

My Goat, Rafi, was BIG. He weighed over 100 lbs and ate 2 backyards worth of Kudzu every summer. I live in Georgia, so Kudzu is everywhere. I think the size of the goat must be the difference. (It wasn’t that I just raised a delinquent goat). I had to hold seminars with the neighbors on what to do if the goat gets out of his pen. First, and most important thing – Make a peanut butter sandwich. Rafi would follow you to the ends of the earth if you had a peanut butter sandwich. I have to laugh at this!! I miss my Rafi!

Oh gosh- maybe a bug? Or has it hailed recently maybe? I know they have sprays for bugs- with hail I think it just might be damaged.

Everyone has different styles and opinions- of course it is okay if you don’t love that room or furniture placement. I think the tips she gave offer ideas to think about to style your own space. 🙂

Hi Courtney! Your goats are super cute! My Grandpa passed away A couple yrs ago at age 98 to be with my Grandma in heaven. Their special song was earth Angel coincidentally, I was with my parents today and the rose bushes Gramps gave MOM to REMEMBER him by were in ALL their glory today.💗 Also, my parents HAVE climbing ROSE bushes called “dusk to dawn” that we and you as well would absolutely LOVE! Gloriouse blushing white in color. Coincidentally, purchased at our local nursery called out of Eden. Needless to say Courtney, you are very near and dear to my heart and your posts always seem to come at the right times in my life. thank you for your shares. 💗
