Shopping, photographing, running around and cleaning. That pretty much sums up the week that was over here.
It has been a busy few weeks with a lot of running around here and there to get things done. We have a family get together on the agenda for the summer- and so, all those little things like refreshing the paint or refreshing the patio area are getting the attention they deserve.
Shopping
I have had the thrift store and vintage shopping bug recently. You know, the one that takes over and makes you open craigslist on your computer every morning or stop by the thrift store as you go by just to see if there is anything you need? Of course, ‘need’ is the key word there. I mean, was there a piece of furniture or set of vintage plates that I needed that made me stop or shop? Nope. But… I found a beautiful set of antique furniture that has me all giddy over here. Here is a peek- I will be doing a post about them next week.
Garden Roses
While our garden roses are growing in- we don’t have an abundance of some of the blooms just yet. But our rows of All Dressed Up roses just started blooming- so I will be bringing some of those inside.
When my husband went to pick up that gorgeous antique furniture- he stopped at a favorite rose grower in the area and brought back a few bunches of garden roses & garden spray roses for filling the house with lots of pretty.
Blue & White
I am working on a couple of posts alllllll about using some of our favorite color combinations- like blue and white. I will be sharing the first one on Monday- a get the look post using some of the most beautiful blue & white chinoiserie pieces. I styled and photographed it a couple of weeks ago and have been in love ever since.
Lake Tahoe Hiking
We trekked up the mountains to Tahoe last weekend to visit our daughter- and decided to do a bit of hiking to a lookout area that my daughter and her fiancé go to. Here is a quick Reel of the adventures- and for more snaps from a few years ago- you can find that HERE
We also encountered a black bear on our walk the other day. It just kind of popped out of the woods and walked about 50′ in front of us. Sweet Pea growled-she was safely in the front dog carrier thankfully- and the bear looked at us and then took off running away. If I had not been so frozen- I would have taken a photo- but it isn’t every day you see a bear right in front of you so I was not prepared haha.
Shuffling
Shuffling and switching. Ever get in the mood to move EVERYTHING? For now reason other than you just want a change? I am feeling it. BIG time over here. And I think I just might be shuffling a bit this next week. First place to start? The barn.
I definitely don’t hate the barn set up as it is. But, I do kind of want a different look for the summer. Remember that time I got a wild hair and put a bed in the barn for the weekend? We do have some family coming to visit next month so… who knows What it will look like by then.
Biking around the World
I have been biking almost every day for the past few weeks- and I have been all over France, Switzerland and Hawaii- and this morning went on a ride through Vietnam. It is definitely a beautiful way to get some exercise in and feel like we are out and about exploring other countries a little bit. But it will be incredible when we can all travel and go places in person again.
Coming Your Way
Those Blues- how to set a beautiful breakfast table with blue & white.
Rose Garden- a bit about each of the roses we have planted in the garden and yard- and the ones that are coming in the next couple of weeks.
Ch-ch-ch-changes- A couple simple changes happening over here in the bathroom and in the office.
Door knobs- If you are looking for door knob inspiration- you will love the knobs I found. Perfect for a vintage look- but they are brand new- sharing the my favorites for adding vintage charm with hardware.
Treasure Hunt- all about those antique pieces that we picked up last week- the good, the not so good and what the plans are for them.
Happy Saturday All.

In her last house in WASHINGTON State she shared the BLACKBERRIES leading to the ocean with a bEar. It was in the neighborS yard in her yard and the path to the oCean and a few other times as well. Im too big of a chicken if i saw it once YOU would never get me out there again!
