Favorite things Fridays are all about favorites. And today we are talking about French country style florals you can enjoy all year long.
French Market Collection
One of my favorites. And one that is on repeat often- I love the French Market basket- for a couple reasons.
One– I love basket arrangements they are so charming and can be used in so many different places to add instant beauty.
Two– You can use fresh, dried or faux flowers for a display that is perfect for you.
Three– They are just.so.darn.pretty. The perfect welcome on a front door- that is like a traditional wreath but with so much more character and charm.
And Four for this particular one….did you know that I have a wee floral collection at Balsam Hill? It is a huge honor for me and such a treat to be able to design flower and wreath arrangements and have one of my absolute favorite companies – Balsam Hill – recreate those designs and offer for anyone to enjoy. The French Market Collection is one of the collections I designed for them. You can SHOP THIS COLLECTION HERE
Mediterranean Delight
Because something full of sunshine and citrus is always a beautiful thing. The Villa Cucina Basket is another favorite. I recreated this arrangement using fresh for this post HERE– and it is one of my favorite looks.
I love the burst of sunshine this brings to the front door as well.
And this particular basket is ON SALE For Christmas in July for a couple more days. (almost 50% off!)
Dried Flowers
While I was working on that recreating of the basket above- I shared the ‘fresh’ flowers version of the basket on my door.
So pretty right? I loved it so much, I let it dry and then removed the citrus that didn’t fall off or get swiped by the birds and had a basket full of dried olive branches that were absolutely beautiful.
Dried flowers in a basket are a perfect way to decorate the front door. Just keep in mind that a lot of dried flowers are quite appealing to birds and so- they might have a few visitors stealing a few nibbles and bits here and there.
Fresh Flowers
Talk about an oldie… this post is from back in the early blogging days from 2013. But you know- it is a fun one even so and it was fun to rediscover this little gem. This is a simple basket hanger made out of chicken wire with a jar tucked inside for fresh flowers to sit in. You can read the POST HERE
Another fresh option (that is even older than the post above!) is using fresh roses in a wee bike basket on the door. Of course with fresh flowers – you will need to change them often to keep the front door presentation looking fresh and pretty. Which is a big reason why those faux baskets are a great choice.
Galvanized Bucket & Lilacs
Okay- it isn’t a ‘basket’ but it is like a basket… so I am including it. I love this galvanized bucket- it is one I have had for years and it is light enough that you can punch a nail through to be able to add a wire hanger and create a charming door bucket ‘basket’.
Door Basket LOVE
Next time you are thinking about what to use on the front door- think outside the usual wreath ideas and try a beautiful basket full of blooms or greens and try something new. I love a beautiful basket on the door- it just welcomes you and guests home with a whole lot of warmth and charm.

I’m still so obsessed with your side board post in the little cottage bedroom. And, love, love, LOVE how you styled the bed. Will you Please share your white ruffle duvet source? 🙏☺️

These are all such wonderful ideas. I do worry about putting anything too heavy on my glass front door though as I think it might move around too much when you open it. do you ever have that problem?
