Family fun, a birthday girl, travel dreaming and the next step in that furniture makeover. It is all in the weekend view today.
Do you ever have a week where you are off by a day all week long? On Thursday- I thought it was Friday. And I was so convinced it was Friday- I sent out an email saying Happy Friday. Then I realized I was not on the same day of the week as everyone else. haha. So- I double checked – and want to wish you all a Happy SUNDAY today. 🙂 I love Sundays because they are the quiet before the busy of a new week starting up.
Birthday Girl
Last week, we celebrated this birthday girl turning 23.
Our daughter Ansley is such a beautiful girl inside and out and is an absolute treasure. She also works with me on social media for the blog and doing video work for some of our projects. We also chatted again about her doing some posts about make-up and energy tips- so stay tuned for those.
Family Fun
It was such a special day at our house yesterday. My mom and stepdad came over for the day to visit and to meet Juliette for the first time. Juliette is their first great-grandchild and they have been itching to be able to spend some time cuddling her since she was born. We were originally planning a fun family reunion type gathering this weekend -but some last minute changes. So it was a smaller gathering but so.much.fun.
Watching my mom with her and seeing how happy she was – was absolutely priceless. I haven’t seen her get so excited since my twin nieces were born 8 years ago- and Juliette smiled and giggled with her the whole time- so I think the feeling was mutual. One of the funniest parts of the day was when I was taking some photos of the two of them together. They got all situated in front of the lion fountain ivy wall – and I started to snap away and then there was a bit of ‘potty’ explosion 😂 (twice!) and the series of snaps showing my moms reaction to it were insanely funny.
Furniture Update
We wrapped up treating the antique furniture for beetles again- and got the wax to try. Stay tuned for the reveal coming your way this week. 🙂 Jolie Wax and Paints are some of my favorites so I was pretty excited to try this white wax which they suggested to give the furniture a ‘limed’ look. I will let you know how it turned out and what we ended up using to clean and finish these pieces up in the reveal this week.
Travel Dreaming
We are making some plans for travel and doing a lot of travel dreaming. We have two engaged kids and they are both talking about and planning their weddings. My oldest son and his fiancé would like to get married in Italy- in a nod to my husbands side of the family and their Sicilian roots. We spent a little time talking about just where and planning yesterday and it was so fun to think and dream about traveling again – hopefully soon. The last time we were in Italy was October 2019- it feels like it has been so long. You can read about some of our travels on this page HERE

Hi Courtney!
The photos you captures of your Mom with her new Grand baby are absolutely priceless! ☺️I can’t wait to see your updates- especially the Little Cottage. I don’t respond to all your posts as I am sometimes delayed. I loved your blue and white table display so much I am working on duplicating for my birthday the best I can financially …..with my very generous loving husband and parents. Both the Artia blue floral and white lace are not dishwasher safe unless you air dry with no heat. Do you really hand wash yours…..I need some encouragement. 😅 I may just start with blue floral salad in addition to my plan B white pottery plates. Hmmmmm…
