The weekend view is all about this and that from the week that was. This week- behind the scenes of flower filled photo shoots, gardens and a 200+ foot tree and goat shenanigans and more.
Flower Filled Projects
I have been working on a couple of photoshoots that involve all kinds of flowers over here. From creating a welcoming front door to a romantic table for two.
I am also working on some backyard wedding inspiration – stay tuned for more coming to the blog in the next couple of weeks.
Giant Pine Tree
Sadly, the tallest pine tree in this grove was damaged in the storm that came through in December and had to be cut down. You might remember that crazy unusual storm that toppled about a dozen of our trees and knocked the power out for 2 weeks. There were 2 huge trees next to this pine in our front yard and they both fell and took a big chunk of earth with them which then caused this tree next to them to be unstable. It has been slowly leaning a bit and they advised taking it out before it leaned enough to fall. A climber went up and cut it bit by bit and then dropped the last of it onto the lawn. It was over 200′ – they guessed about 230′. We were sad that it had to be cut down but Kevin seems to be enjoying playing on it.
We have to find someone who will come and pick up this tree and that other one that fell and blocked the driveway. (you can see a small section of it in the background) The storm created such a mess and allergies from everyone cutting damaged trees daily have been really bad this year.
Garden
We have been enjoying dinners in the garden this week. It has been so warm into the evenings and it is making me excited to see all the flowers popping up. I am not so patiently waiting for those garden paths to be filled with blooms again.
Animal Sanctuary
We went with our big boys and their wives & Juliette to an animal sanctuary yesterday. Juju loves little animal faces and seemed to enjoy seeing all of them. Since this is a rescue sanctuary, there were barnyard animals as well -and I have decided again that the goats might need a mini horse companion. I have actually been keeping my eye out for a rescue mini horse to bring home but haven’t found one just yet.
Coming your way
Garden updates and a few ideas for adding some ‘wild’ to your garden spaces. The peony tulips we planted are almost ready in the garden as well- I am excited to see them bloom and will share more about those also. Easter inspiration is coming your way- along with cabbage floral arrangements.
Happy weekend all.
