Welcome to the weekend view.
This weekend is a busy one with projects, gardening and Mother’s Day on Sunday. But last week was all about a bit of relaxing and a getaway.
Beach Getaway
We escaped to the beach for a few days last week to celebrate our anniversary and also sort of regroup a bit. Our daughter and her fiancé stayed at the house with the goats and chickens so we didn’t have to worry about anything there and my daughter also smudged the house and a few vintage treasures. She is a big believer in cleaning the energy in a home (and people) especially when there are vintage or antiques that have newly arrived. I know we briefly talked about this before- if you would like to have her share more about the smudging process, using crystals etc. let me know. On top of that- she loves to clean and deep cleaned the house for me which was such a treat. I told her she is hired haha.
Vintage Shopping
I *might* have done a bit of vintage shopping in the past couple of weeks. From chippy painted things to weathered and worn treasures- there are a ton of things that are talking to me right now as we update a few rooms. Sometimes it is a whole piece and others – a detail like these old worn pulls. Stay tuned for what I brought home and where it landed.
Wildflower Blooms
While we were staying at the beach- we took a drive out to Point Reyes and the lighthouse. We couldn’t see the lighthouse due to the fog that was completely covering it but we did enjoy seeing all the wildflower blooms along the way. I did a video of the beach that I will be sharing along with more about our stay soon.
Mom’s Day Last minute gifts
A few last minute quick shipping options that are sweet for gifting. Of course, a virtual gift card is always a good last minute idea too and one of my favorite ways to gift so that people can get exactly what they would like.
One for the Road
One for the road this week- all about flowers and setting a pretty table using what you have on hand. I will be sharing one more styling that is all about those florals from the doorscape- along with a video.
A bit of the mix and mingle in the house this week- things are moving and changing and I am excited to get started playing with some new pieces. I snapped this of the mess in the corner that even in the mess looked pretty to me.
I will share some inspirations and also some design plans for the dining room- along with the treasures I found and the details on where some of the pieces on hand have landed.
Birthdays
May is a month full of birthdays for our family. Wishing my mom a very Happy birthday- she is celebrating her birthday this week.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend and Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s day to you also! Get aways are always fun, but no place like home! The weather is finally turning around here, we have some much needed sunshine with temps in the 70’s. Have a lovely weekend.

I just started smudging so would love more information. I didn’t realize to do it to antiques you just brought in to the house. It does make sense. I leave a window open to send bad energy out of the HOUSe. Thanks for any suggestions on how to do it properly.

Yes I would love to hear more about the smudging process from your daughter and any tips she has on cleaning the house. Your post and one other are the only ones I follow faithfully. Thankyou

Wishing you and your mom a happy Mother’s Day.
I had to laugh last night when my husband and I stepped back to observe our hard work over the previous several months in the garden, greenhouse, and cottage, preparing for our first Grandbabies, Baby shower. He leaned over and said, Your influencer Courtney Allison would be proud! Thank you for all the inspiration, Courtney.
