Welcome to the weekend view.
Flower Power
This week, I have been playing with peonies- if you haven’t yet had a chance to wander into Trader Joe’s – go grab a bunch or two before they are out of season. And these big burgundy beauties have been dropping petals like crazy. I grabbed a photo to show just how many before cleaning up
Avion evening glow
The new lights for the Avion finally arrived and after my husband put them in- he left the lights on to see what the evening ‘glow’ might look like. Excited to get this styled for a few fun photos this week. And stay tuned for the progress on the floor and new lights.
Manicotti Night
We helped move our son Cullan and his wife into their new home a few weeks ago- and last week they hosted all of us for dinner. We usually get together for a family dinner once a week- and last week they decided on a theme which was ‘manicotti’ night. Basically, Italian food – bread, salad, manicotti, vino, etc. Next week, we are planning Nacho night. My husband and I will be having taco salads- but the big kids will be making gourmet nachos for dinner.
Chicken Snacks
With unusual rainy weather here- the chickens have been staying in the covered part of the coop rather than wandering. And so, extra fresh snacks are in order. This was a plate full of arugula, blueberries and chopped up peaches. All favorites for them.
Wandering
This weeks wandering has taken me in a different direction. I have been doing a little bit of planning for an upcoming outdoor space refresh and so have been doing some shopping for that.
I also have been shopping for some bulbs to plant this fall. Would you believe that out of all of the probably 30-40 white tulips and allium that I had growing in the garden last year- 1 Allium came back and that was it? Gophers apparently like those bulbs too- though I had heard that they don’t like allium. Then again- they aren’t supposed to like foxgloves either and we know how that has been going.
I found that Allium are 20% off this weekend at Michigan Bulb if anyone else is looking to plant some in their garden. (not an affiliate)
Have a great weekend everyone.
