Tis the season for all things merry & bright- and that includes festive holiday table settings too. Today we are talking about this sweet little table I put together out under the stars and 3 things you can use to create your own version this holiday season.

As well, our market is OPEN this week for a big holiday sale and this ruffled check tablecloth is included!
Festive Holiday Table
Oh the fun I have during the holidays setting up all the merry & bright! From twinkling trees to table settings – it is all about the magic. On the table- that magic looks a lot like a candles and a garland. This table is set outdoors but you can easily use these ideas for an indoor table as well. It is all about using your own beautiful backdrop and creating your own kind of magic on the table! Let’s jump in for a closer look.
3 Things for a Holiday Table
#1- How about a beautiful tablecloth for setting the stage for your place settings and a cozy gathering?
I don’t always love to use a tablecloth, I will admit. That bare wood patina really talks to me sometimes. But for Thanksgiving or Christmas tables- a cloth just feels more elegant and polished. This one has a bit of that but also feels very welcoming since it isn’t too pristine and is a more casual style with the check and ruffle.

A tip is to use a cloth that speaks to you, your overall aesthetic and the feeling you want to create for your gathering.
#2-Layer a garland for a centerpiece for an easy and festive look in snap!
This garland is such a fun one. It is dotted with colorful baubles, various foliage & flowers and green velvet bows. The delicate glow from the lights is lovely, the colors lend themselves to a vintage look and the velvet flowers and ribbon are such sweet additions.

A tip is to bring in a lit garland or add lights to your garland for an extra sprinkle of magic in your centerpiece.
#3- Bring some magic to your background to ‘echo’ the ambiance
This is such a simple trick but it makes all the difference. For this setting, we used the wine barrels in the background to add some extra oomph. Wreaths placed on the tops with lanterns inside created a little bit more magic. And of course, the overhead lights too. If you are indoors, add a lit wreath to a wall or a mirror. Add candles to a sideboard or mantel in the room or bring in twinkle magic with string lights if it makes sense for your space.

Overall, creating a gathering for the holidays is all about using what you love -bringing out the ‘good’ stuff and enjoying it. Your setting doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to have matching place settings or chairs. It is all about creating a table for friends and family to gather together, to catch up and laugh and make memories that will last long after the candles burn down.
