It started innocently enough one weekend while my husband was out of town.
Gangnam Style, Hips Don’t Lie, You Don’t Know you are Beautiful and Spin me Right Round.
It is a super addicting thing…
and I will admit that my daughter and I are over at the Y.M.C.A. almost every day.
And we are probably not doing what you think…
It is called Just Dance for the Wii.
Have you ever tried it?
Have you ever tried it?
It starts with a song.
You put a song on and you start following the dance moves.
And when that first little star appears- and the challenge is to get all 5 stars.
And when that first little star appears- and the challenge is to get all 5 stars.
Which, my daughter does almost every.single.time.
Me?
I am more of a 3-4 star kind of girl… but give me William Tell Overture-
I am more of a 3-4 star kind of girl… but give me William Tell Overture-
and I am ringing in that 5th star.
You see, it rates you on how in sync you are with the moves.
I am pretty into the dancing and jumping and all that- but in sync?
Eh… I am more like that crazy woman dancing to her own music on the floor.
😉

Really though, Just Dance is completely addicting-
and before you know it- it has been an hour and half.
The good news? It is fun and it is a great workout.
The bad news?
I have been baking naked cakes.
And photographing bon bons (and they keep disappearing)
And Valentine’s Day is right around the corner… which means…
decadent cheesecake.
So I am kind of not really getting anywhere with all that extra dancing at the moment.
C’est la vie… dance & cheesecake- it is all good right?
And I am sifting through recipe’s for THE most amazing cheesecake to share with you this year-
and sharing 4 favorites from the past.
Just click on the title for each of the posts and recipe-
but don’t hold me responsible for the need for stretchy pants
(though these cheesecakes are worth it!)
You know New York style cheesecake? The ones that are like 1′ tall with thick extra delicious creamy goodness? This is a chocolate version of that.
With a chocolate ganache. And a chocolate crust. And yeah, you will love it.
If you are like me- there are two things that you will break the diet for.
Chocolate and peanut butter.
And oh… this cheesecake. THIS cheesecake is incredibly peanut butter & chocolately delicious.
Definitely worth the extra 3 hours of dancing it will take to get rid of those calories.
And after looking at this post again… I might have to make another one.
Oreo Cheesecake
This post is turning into a calorie loaded extra delicious post…and this Oreo Cheesecake is another one that is perfect for date night. And even better- this cheesecake was super easy to make… in a pressure cooker. Crazy, right? But it’s true.
Blueberry Cheesecake
Okay… and one slightly healthier version if you don’t want to undo all that hard work and don’t feel like dancing for several hours. A simple cheesecake topped with fresh fruit. Voila.
I have tried so many cheesecake recipes and have never found the one that makes NY-style foot-tall cheesecake. I will try your chocolate version next weekend–it will be the perfect finale for a raclette (a giant half-round of cheese that you melt under a special apparatus–the bubbly, melted cheese gets scraped off and eaten with charcuterie.)
That peanut butter version would be a hit with a friend of my husband's. Saving this!
Oh the raclette sounds so amazing!! Wish I could come by for a visit!! Let me know how you like the chocolate cheesecake- it is so delicious!!
Laura's cheesecake out of Mt. Pleasant, Texas makes an amazing Turtle cheese cake.
It has an Oreo type crust, just too yummy! It would be a great inspiration for your Turtle cheesecake. And best of all, you can get it in the shape of Texas!
