This is a fun one today friends. A whimsical tree inspired by a thrift store find. I knew the minute I saw this antique butter churn- I wanted to put a Christmas tree inside of it. And so I did. A Christmas tree in an antique butter churn? Why not? Jumping in for a closer look.
Antique Butter Churn Christmas Tree
This is a fun tree full of whimsy and charm. A simple and sweet look that literally took about 10 minutes to put together. And it all started with an antique butter churn and a Christmas tree. I mean, when you get an inspired idea, why not run with it right? I had such fun with this one. I was literally dancing when the tree stood up and worked inside the butter churn. Antique Butter Churn
This is a different kind of an antique butter churn- rather than one that is tall and uses a pole to churn the butter,this one has wood blades inside and a handle that spins them around. I had not seen one like this previously, but when I walked into the thrift store and saw it, I instantly thought it would make a great unique Christmas tree stand. I showed my husband and he agreed.
A Spindly Christmas Tree
I set a spindly little Charlie Brown style Christmas tree inside. Bonus- it didn’t even need any propping. The blades helped keep it straight and in place. After I placed the tree inside, I decorated it with just a couple things.
Vintage Ornaments and Ribbons
Just a handful of vintage ornaments and velvet ribbons was all this tree needed to be considered done. I wanted something simple in the guest bedroom and so, that is how this one ended up. But spoiler alert… you just might be seeing look #2 in the series this year (and it is alllllll vintage allllll the time) so stay tuned!
