This is the
piece de resistance…

a beautiful storybook armoire
fit for a princess…
maybe even A Queen.
She has a royal air about her…
and wears a most fantastic frenchy crown…
Gracefully adorned with hand painted flowers
with gorgeous carved shell handles

She wears beautiful carved flowers accents
& has a bombe chest bottom with a slanted top drawer and sides.
Of course, every lady needs a bit of mystery about her…
Inside the top doors, there’s a little surprise…

dainty shelves & three lingerie drawers decorated with a flower bouquet.
She is just as pretty from the sides as she is from the front.
She’s most definitely a drama queen and loves the attention she gets.
This is my absolute favorite piece of the furniture I have been sharing recently
(shhh.. don’t tell the other pieces)
I just about fell over when I saw this armoire. I literally had to stop and compose myself!
lol!

The set is all made in Italy~
around mid-century but definitely has an elegant french look to them.
Soft creamy paint (though it looks more yellow in the pictures)
gorgeous teal accents, pastel florals and
of course,
a bit of pretty gilding for a little glam & drama.
She holds court in the little sitting room/ hall area off the bedroom.
(I apologize~ The lighting in this room is not good for taking photos
and it has been snowing and raining all weekend which makes it even darker)
*sigh*
All hail the Queen!
HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!!!
Hope my French is correct in this post! lol!
I am so excited that it is officially spring
though you wouldn’t know by looking outside
snow. snow. snow…
and more rain and possibly snow on the way…
wait a minute…
I thought I was living out here in SUNNY CALIFORNIA?!?
What a strange winter…

Oh my heart is beating a little faster! What a simply GORGEOUS piece of furniture!
Donna
Courtney she is TDF!! I can absolutely see why she is your favorite! I would've had to compose myself also *winks* When you purchased her (and family lol!) did you already have a place in mind? Or did you just buy the set and figure out the whole placement thing later? Just curious. Vanna
I love the shape of The Queen! She is very pretty!!!
you have snow there? While we went to a barbecue and sat in the garden all day yesterday. How bizarre! What is the world coming to!!
This is BEAUTIFUL, Courtney, but I am coming to the conclusion that EVERYTHING of yours is beautiful!!
Sarahx
So beautiful! One of my favorite places is Versailles and my favorite historical figure is Marie Antoinette. Your piece could have come straight out of Marie's apartment at the Petit Trianon.
I liked your suggestion of an electric fireplace for my bedroom-I may have to do some shopping. I was having a snowy California weekend myself. We may live closer than I thought.Take care.
Ann-Marie
What a beauty!!!!! = )))

She is a Queen! And a beautiful one at that! We've been rainy and stormy on and off for a few days now here where I am Courtney. I'm a bit tired of it, by now. I love your true French Country pieces, your blog title is so fitting. xoxo tami
Awesome! Now it makes me think of Princesses and Queens and renaissance and medieval times. Beautiful! And I know you don`t but,……….. I love snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Great Post! Love it 😀
This is not only the Queen of beautiful pieces but the Empress of the furniture Universe. An absolutely breathtaking masterpiece of style. It evokes a very emotional reaction.
The color and form work beautifully together. This is a piece that could stand alone in a room!
How lovely of you to share it.
What a delightful stop!

Une tres belle armoire! (There's something about her that inspires one to comment in French!) x

XO
Just beautiful Courtney…thanks so much for sharing it at NTT!
Blessings,

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love it and the details are breath taking!!
Amazing. Very "Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette", which I mean in a very good way (old but young, do you know what I mean?), it's very "précieux" but it doesn't look outdated: it actually looks like the Queen is going to pop her head out of the corner of one of your pictures! And your French was perfect by the way!
Magali, from the Little White House
