Weekend View
Welcome to the Weekend View. This week it was all about projects, painting, gardening and birthday girls.
Before we get into the week that was; Memorial Day is tomorrow and while celebrating an extra day off – it is about much more than a long weekend. I want to say thank you to those who have served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Birthday Girl
Juliette turned 2 last week and we celebrated her birthday yesterday at family dinner. The ladies all wore crowns to celebrate Queen Juju- she played with water toys, enjoyed pizza and cake and had lots of fun.
Grandpa enjoyed some cuddles with Enzo
And baby brother Jionni is becoming quite the little charmer.
Garden Roses & Hemlock
The garden roses are blooming over here and I am just a little bit giddy about it. So of course, clipping a few to bring indoors happened.
We also discovered a pest of a plant growing in the rose garden. We have not had seen this plant before, but it was growing up wild and wooly with one of the roses we planted last year. So, I got out the plant identification app and it confirmed it was Poison Hemlock which is no bueno. We are not 100% sure on how we are going to get rid of it since it says to be very careful with touching it or breathing it in while cutting it. Has anyone had any experience with Poison Hemlock before?
Cecile Brunner Roses
Last year the Cecile Brunner roses barely bloomed- but they are starting to bloom away like crazy again this year and I am obsessed as usual.

The roses are amazing.

JUst pull the hemlock out by hand, its easy to pull. You can also SPOT SPRAY. Its easy enough. Its such a lovely lime green, but if it is left to flower, then seeds can travel🥴

Your grandchildren are precious. What cute cuddle bugs. ❤️
Oh, my goodness, poison hemlock sounds like something out of a Harry Potter book.
Good luck with getting rid of it.
