The second look for our sweet whimsical Christmas tree in an antique churn- a vintage colorful Christmas tree with a sprinkle of tinsel.
Vintage Colorful Christmas Tree
This was a quick change from the look I shared last week- and so many of you loved the simplicity of the tree with bows and a few baubles! You can find more on that look HERE. This look is a tad more colorful- vintage ornaments in all the shades dotting the branches.

I brought in silver, blues, reds, golds and more for this look. Pretty much opened up a lot of the boxes I just scored at the thrifts (this post HERE if you missed it)

A Sprinkle of Tinsel
I also added a little bit of tinsel to the branches for an extra ‘vintage’ look. You don’t have to use tinsel if you prefer not to have the mess- it definitely is a bit on the messy side and will leave glistening strands everywhere. This was a mingle of colors of tinsel I already had on had from previous holiday stylings- silver, gold and even pink tinsel together.

Whimsical Butter Churn Stand
Of course, I kept the tree and the antique butter churn ‘stand’ the same- and it works perfectly no matter what type or color decorations are on the tree I think. This will be a stand that is on repeat here- I adore how it turned out. I will likely be sharing one more tree look with this butter churn too so stay tuned!

What do you think of how this tree turned out? Which is your favorite look? Soft and subtle with a dash of romance or vintage colorful and sprinkle of tinsel?

tHEY ARE BOTH SO BEAUTIFUL, BUT I THINK MY VINTAGE SELF PREFERS THE SECOND ONE SLIGHTLY MORE.
I like the tree with colorful ornaments and tinsel, I love these ornaments.
I like them bith. I thought I wasn’t going to like the more colorful tree but I like it a lot. i can live with either and be happy. Thank you for sharing.
I like the second tree better, simply because it reminds me of the tree in my childhood living room and THAT BRINGS BACK FOND MEMORIES. nOSTALGIA WINS OUT THIS TIME!
All beautiful I have a bunch of your books I love them
What is the heiht of the Balsum Hill tree you have?
This is a 6.5′ tall one
Sorry. Height. I want to get one so my ornaments show better.
Beautiful
Definitely the vintage colorful tree for me! It’s ready to party with that outfit 😂
The vintage tree is my favorite! Simply delightful!
This version of the tree is my favorite with the vintage, colorful ornaments, so pretty!
Love them both! But the second look with more colors is so pretty!!
I love them both–different feelings to fill my moods! In the past I’ve put a tree in an old sewing machine top and filled the drawers with vintage toys. I love repurposing my odd finds! love the butter churn!
Courtney, what a fun idea to use an old butter churn as a tree holder! This is a lovely tree. As I get older, i realize how much I appreciate the beauty of putting together a simple tree. Enjoy!!
Happy holidays,
Barb 🙂
I tend to be more monochromatic so the first tree really hits home for me. However the second tree is a close second…lol. They are both beautiful!
