Growing up, I spent a lot of time chewing on the end of a pencil while gazing out the window.
I would imagine traveling the world,
living in a castle,
riding ponies and falling in love with my prince charming
and pretty much exploring any other daydreaming land
that I could transport to.

and pretty much exploring any other daydreaming land

I did not think about the math test that was going on…
which might explain my strained relationship with math and numbers to this day.
I am a day dreaming girl.
I always have been and I am pretty sure I will always pause for a few moments when staring out a window to see that world that exists when you stop to notice it.
The end of the year and the start of a new on always brings reflection.
What you accomplished. What you learned. What changed you.
What you wanted to work on but didn’t.
ahem… guilty of that one for sure.
And it brings new dreams to the forefront for what you can hope to accomplish in the new year.
It feels like a fresh, clean slate for writing your dreams on and making them come true.
Sometimes it also brings reflection further back.
4 years ago when I started blogging I had no idea where it would take me.
What opportunities might come from it
or how it would become so much a part of my everyday.
When I think about how 18 years ago, I lived in the country on 120 acres
and we didn’t have internet or neighbors. Seriously.
I longed for friends and other moms to connect with.
So I would write.
I would doodle
and I definitely did a lot of daydreaming for sure.
Discovering blogs and having a way to connect with so many people
who have much in common
would have truly changed things for me then
and
blogging has changed things for me for sure now.
It has brought community
it has brought a business that I love and that I am able to be creative in
it has brought travel and opportunities
and partnerships
and partnerships
2014 was an amazing year.
I worked with so many fantastic people and had the opportunity to give back with several projects.
It was a year filled with stretching my wings a bit more with new opportunities,
a lot of traveling, new partnerships and expanding my horizons. There were changes at home with my big boys moving out and other things of course but overall a great year.

And you know what?
As I was staring out at the ocean the other day
and getting lost in those clouds that were stretching across the sky
and listening to the sounds of the water against lapping the sand…
I got a little lost in the most amazing daydream.
It was all about possibilities and reaching for the stars
and achieving your dreams
and I know that 2015 is going to even more amazing.
I feel like a daydream is the start.
The seed that is planted that is ready to be watered and nurtured and allowed to grow into it’s potential.
Potential for becoming a dream come true
In 2015,
I am doing a lot of watering- with that extra boost in nutrients even. 😉
I am doing more than just allowing seeds to grow- I am encouraging them to bloom.
What if we all simply choose to ignore that negative thought that sits on your shoulder that says ‘Puhleeze.’
and decided to listen to the person inside that says
‘I think I can. I KNOW I can‘
instead
and then actually believed it?
What would you decide you could do then?
I want to encourage each of you to step into your own daydreaming world too.
That world that only you can see
when you get lost looking out the window or through the trees.
It’s not such a bad place and it just might be the start of something wonderful for you.

I have a ton of fun things swirling around in my head that I would love to accomplish in 2015
from new DIY’s to design inspiration to decorating and entertaining
and lots of travel and writing and the list. goes. on.

Dear Courtney. I am so pleased that you are a "Daydreaming Girl" as the song from South Pacific goes, "if you don't have a dream you cannot have a dream come true"!
I live by these words and encourage dreaming and prayer and believing in miracles. I certainly do believe in miracles and dreams coming true.
Have a beautiful vacation and Happy New Year. xo Catherine

Courtney! You are my soul sister girl. I was always looking out the window in class … in my own little world. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You have enriched my life. Nobody does it like you. To think I found your blog while looking for outdoor fireplaces.
I have to know, what is the blue fabric on the window in the Inn photo? Its gorgeous and do I see tassel fringe? Can you get an up close photo?
I wish you continued success and all good things in the new year! Hugs!

Bonjour chère amie,
Tout comme toi, j'aime conjuguer le verbe rêver à tous les temps ! Je suis plus forte dans la conjugaison que dans le calcul !
Que cette année 2015 pétille de fantaisie !!

Hi Courtney, I too am a day and night dreamer, this is what has lead me to interior design work in my field of interior designs and staging Estate Model Homes….I am sure your day dreaming had lead you down this path as well, it's so apparent in all the designs and photography you create.
Keep inspiring us with your beauty.

I do love this time of year when we can dream of the possibilities ahead! People call it daydreaming but I think it's really listening to our hearts–that's the real key to success, isn't it?!
