It’s no secret that I love burlap.

I love burlap for it’s texture and charm and that natural touch.
I was looking for panels that would quietly compliment this room.
Something that would not be overpowering with color or pattern or too heavy for Summer.
Something that would not be overpowering with color or pattern or too heavy for Summer.
Something that was just
a little rustic and maybe a little fun.
Of course, burlap came to mind.
I have a big roll of beautiful burlap from Burlap Fabric
just waiting to become something and decided why not.

I wanted the panels to be a little more ‘quiet’ so I kept them very simple with just a
rod pocket and a hem and used small clips to hang them on the drapery rod.

Morning Courtney. Enjoy your day at the Vintage Show.
🙂 You beat me to it! I too am in the process of making simple (straight line sewing is all I can do) burlap drapery. Amidst much sneezing and runny eyes….
Your are luvly!!!
Cheers, Gee
Gorgeous! I love the idea of burlap at the windows, just saw some at JoAnn's and they did have a choice of different colors!
I like burlap too, it adds a lovely praire-look, and the light is so warm with it!
Simple and so charming project!

WOOW,,,,,,,,,I just LOVE this post…..
Hugs from Håkan in Sweden 🙂
I adore burlap!!! What do you do to help with the natural odor?
These are just gorgeous, Courtney! Simple and perfect for this window!
XO,
Jane
Awesome! I love that look in your room! So pretty – as all your decor and styling is!
"Quiet" is a beautiful description for the look you were going for and spot on. Have a nice weekend.
The very first curtains I ever made for our very first apartment were burlap. I was 18 and we were poor college students. I still like burlap curtains! Yours look great! Love the flowers, too!
So simple, but still soooo PRETTY!!! I love this look and love the ones I have made.
Blessings,
Linda
Love the panels! My only question is….does all this burlap smell?
Hi Nita! This burlap had a bit of a smell when I first got it- but I haven't noticed it being as hard to work with as the burlap I used to get. Burlap Fabric does have a washed variety of burlap that might be even better. 🙂
The burlap that I've purchased at JoAnns usually smells, so that is my biggest concern as well. Do you find that with the burlap from Burlap Fabric.com?
Hi Charlotte~
This burlap did smell a bit strong for a few days- but I haven't noticed it as much after that. Burlap Fabric does have washed varieties of burlap as well- maybe that would be better for the burlap smell too. 🙂
I hope you are enjoying your day today. The Mes Amis Vintage Show sounds like fun!!! Love your drapes, but I tell ya that I absolutely adore that runner….LOVE it!
What a lovely look! I would never have thought burlap curtains could look so pretty!
They look great–you inspire me to do something with burlap. It puts the shabby in shabby chic 🙂
Whenever I've tried working with burlap, it sheds so much. Am I doing something wrong, or does it ease up a bit after working with it? Is there a secret I don't know about? Or am I using the wrong kind of burlap? (It's just the burlap from Hobby Lobby's fabric department.)
I love what you have done with the burlap, everything is Beautiful Especially the flowers!!! Have a Great weekend!!!
Burlap is my best friend but I noticed that it will fade rather quickly as the sun hits it. But because it is so inexpensive , new panels can be made to replace the old ones.
I love the look you got going on I've never thought of using burlap before.
Thanks for the idea's.
Have a great day.
Denise
These are wonderful and just what I would like to use in my new home. ( you know, the one we will have when we move back to the US) .. keeping this in my New Home File 🙂
besos, C
Courtney, have you washed any of your burlap projects? Do they shrink a lot or pill?
Love how the sun shines through the burlap Courtney.
My tip for smelly burlap is to air it out on the clothesline for a day and then store it wrapped in a plastic bag with lavender sachets for a few days.
Oh my gosh… I know if i just want to see something beautiful, all i have to do is come over here. The flowers, the curtains… all fabulous! Now I'm off to catch up on your other posts that i've missed!
Cindy
Illove the soft, natural look of these curtains and yes, the sun shining through is so pretty! Maybe this is what I've been looking for! Thank you for more inspiration! Enjoy the show and I hope you'll post about it! Hugs, Leena

This is a pretty window treatment with burlap, Courtney–I like how the light filters through the weave of it.
The window is very pretty with the burlap..
