It’s another random Saturday over here.
This weekend it’s a little chilly out
but with a warm fire in the fireplace and these pretty blooms and a cup of tea
we are staying cozy.
The other day I realized that Halloween was coming up
as in – it was coming in a couple of days. Can someone tell me where exactly
October went this year? For that matter- what about September too?
I feel like I have been playing catch up lately quite a bit but
the good news is- I have been working early on a few things
and so, I am a little bit ahead for the next month or two work wise
which is a great feeling.

It’s November 1st.
Can you believe it?
November 1st means Thanksgiving is coming and Christmas is
right around the corner and yes, it is starting up over here.
right around the corner and yes, it is starting up over here.
I know that some of you hate to see Christmas before Thanksgiving-
but in our family, we always have at least the main Christmas tree up by the time
we have our Thanksgiving gathering.
It’s one of our traditions and this year, I will be decorating 3 new trees for a special project
and so I have been scouring thrift stores for vintage ornaments
saving pretty paper for packages
and I am pretty excited.
I will be sharing some sneak peeks soon.

#2. Fright Night
My daughter and I wandered around with friends for a little trick or treating last night.
It was raining so it was a little chilly and wet but we had fun nonetheless.
It is always fun to see little kids get so excited all dressed up and happy in their costumes.
But even better- after warming up with long hot showers
we enjoyed the rest of the spooky, rainy evening watching Halloween movies.

Tosca
I love opera.
As in, I LOVE opera and one of my favorites is Tosca.
As in, I LOVE opera and one of my favorites is Tosca.
This past week- Tosca was one of the performances at the SF Opera.
Though we usually go to several performances each season- this year,
I was so excited to see that there are 2 of my favorite opera performances included in the season.

I have to say, it is a favorite date of mine in the Fall-
I love it when my husband dresses up just a little more fancy to attend the opera.
If you aren’t familiar with Tosca- let’s just say that the music alone makes me cry.
Every.Single.Time.
Before I ever saw this opera, I knew that the music was packed with emotion
and it would literally move me to tears when I heard it.
After seeing the opera- I knew why.

If Opera is something you are not opposed to (I know not everyone loves it like I do)
I highly recommend Tosca or anything by Puccini really-
La Boheme- which is coming up next

What a great post. I absolutely love it. I, too, love opera..but I am alone in my family. lol I used to listen to opera with my father on the radio when I was a little girl. Headed over to check out some of your links to Lowes.
Sounds like you have had a busy month of October and lots of plans for November. xo Diana

I think everyone feels the same way – "Where did September and October go"? I am getting everything ready in my mind and jotting down what I want to do for Christmas. I usually go up to my son's in Los Gatos, but I still like to decorate the house. That is my very favorite time of the year. I also love the Fall season with all the pretty colors.
Have a great week.
