Can we talk about favorite details?
I am all about favorite things…
especially when they are things like velvet, vintage and pretty little details.
Today, I am sharing my top 10 favorite detail trends from my recent trip to
High Point Market with Design Bloggers Conference.
And it is all about some of the details that caught my eye and some of the things I noticed again and again in various showrooms.
#1. Vintage style rugs as upholstery
This was spotted in the Lee Industries showroom…
and I fell hard for that faded well worn and well loved look.
I love the idea of using a rug for upholstery-there is something really unique and charming about it.
#2. Tufting
Also at Lee… that tufted sofa. I seriously need two of them right now.
Sigh…
#2. Beading
Who doesn’t love a pop of pretty on a sofa or bed? A detailed pillow is perfect for adding just that.
I love these pillows and all those intricate beaded patterns and details at Pyar & Co.
#4. Woven wicker
Textures get me every time and the indoor /outdoor beach vacation house look?
Yes, please.
I loved all the outdoor sets that were popping up in the showrooms
This one with the chunky construction is from +Century Furniture
And these chairs that looked just like indoor chairs
but are made for outdoors were amazing. Right down to turned legs.
You can find them at Castelle
#5. Hardware love
Because this vintage inspired amazingness is just that.
Amazing.
I love this chest and that gorgeous swag hardware spotted at Theodore Alexander
I think piece of furniture that already has a classic timeless look and hardware that really is like jewelry- you have a major find.
#6. Just obsessed
The frames of these chairs, the cushion details, the fabric… what is not to love about these beauties? These are the Palm Beach chairs from Ambella Home talked to me.
And you know what else I spotted there?
A French canvas wall… so similar to my dining room wall.
#7. Nailhead trim
I am a sucker for trim details- and these chairs at Huntington House
were masculine and yet had a touch of elegance with just that tiny detail added.
#8. Modern mix- Gold & white
My house is definitely not modern in style- but this chair at Thayer Coggin is modern amazing.
I love the simple, elegant style and that touch of gold that adds interest.
#9. Dark & Light
Contrast piping and button tufting? Oh so much love for these details.
This chair at Century Furniture has such a charming look and style.
#10. Modern Beach cottage vibes
More masculine and modern in style, this beach cottage living room at Wesley Hall was different from the all white wonders that you usually see. The subtle colors and patterns caught my eye- and I love the soft sage gray on the walls.
So there you have some of the top trends I noticed in several showrooms around
High Point Market.
Do you have a favorite?
Up next, I will be talking vintage at Market
and talking about vintage inspired finds as well.
Happy Thursday.

That carpet upholstery is wonderful. I have a pair of luscious silk carpets that I had planned to use in the living room of one of our vacation rentals. But even together they were too small. We found a larger carpet that is just perfect, but now I need to find a home for the silk carpets. I have a daybed to cover, and I can't wait to get over there to measure whether one of the carpets will work. They feel so luxurious, like velvet almost. Too nice to be on the floor!
Thanks for the inspiration. I pinned several pictures for future reference.
