Weekend View
Welcome to the weekend and the Weekend View. This week it is all about the mountains, engagements, roses and a whole lot of hiking.
Summer Solstice
My daughter reminded me that the summer solstice was last week and it was a perfect time to focus and set some intentions for myself. I got up early to enjoy the sunrise and sit for a bit before starting the busy of the day. I have to say, not getting on the computer to check in and get to work right away- and being more intentional about waking up quietly and slowly- amazing. But much harder than I thought it would be.
Since one of our neighbors cut so many of their trees down last year for fire prevention- we have a bit of a perk with having the sunrise come through to our yard. It was blocked behind their literal forest before.
Climbing the mountains
We have been hiking away in the mountains this week- from local spots in Lake Tahoe with my daughter to more rustic mountain trails. I have been drawn to the quiet and the far away lately- and this was a perfect fit.
Engagement News
Last weekend we were over at my moms house to celebrate one of my brothers getting engaged. My youngest brother Evan asked his girlfriend Jamie to marry him while they were out on Mount Diablo- and she said yes!! We have all been waiting for them to get engaged and so we were so excited when they told everyone they did it! Their wedding is set for fall next year and we are all so thrilled for them and for Jamie to officially join our crazy family!
Roses
The roses are blooming and blooming and blooming away right now. I wandered the garden this morning and cute 5 arrangements full of them before the heat ruined them. These are All Dressed Up and are incredible.
Christmas in July
Christmas in July is just around the corner. Every year I do a Christmas in July set up with my Balsam Hill family- and this year, we are also doing a Christmas in July get together. With the crazy the past couple of years- we decided to make sure to get together during summer so that if we can’t all gather during the holiday season because of schedule conflicts, etc. or for whatever reason- we celebrated together even so. And yes, I will be making a traditional holiday meal and setting the table too. I will be sharing both of these Christmas in July celebrations here soon and you can see more of last years setting in This Blog Post
Wandering
This weeks wandering the www didn’t happen too much being out in the mountains as much as we were.
