Summer brings loads of warm sunshine
an abundance of blooms in the garden
and a few lazy days out in the hammock.
Summer months are definitely some of my favorites
and our family definitely lives outdoors as much as possible during those
warm days and nights of summer.
It just seems as though the fresh air and twinkle of the stars above invite you
sit and stay awhile.
Though it is almost the first of June (I cannot.believe.it.)
I am a little behind on getting everything completely decked for summer just yet.
And with rain this week- the hammock and outdoor areas had to wait to be styled.
(this photo is from last summer )
So today, I am joining a great group of blog friends in sharing a peek at early summer
In the kitchen –
it is all about that sunshine.
it is all about that sunshine.
With white cupboards and marble counters
our kitchen definitely shines bright when the sun shines in.
(And stayed tuned for something with that yummy lemonade coming your way. ;))
So I tend to keep the styling simple.
Fresh flowers and fresh fruit are definitely in abundance
and play a big part in the summer look.
Our kitchen has the original 1940’s cupboards- and yes, it is a love-hate relationship some days
but I do love their original charm.
In the living room- crisp and white.
With just a pop of vintage patina and brassy gold
well, and a little bling.
😉
And I do add color here and there on occasion- like on the window seat this week
which is a great spot to sit on a rainy day with a cup of tea.
On the mantel -a few sea glass colored bottles and vintage books.
Mostly for summer, I tend to use natural touches. Such as fresh linens and fresh flowers and clippings from the yard with baskets, breadboards and maybe a few romantic touches.
Did I mention I have a slight crush on fresh flowers?
Especially peonies. And ranunculus. And garden roses.
Okay and maybe lavender and hydrangeas.
Who am I kidding. I love fresh flowers of all kinds.
😉
I added a whole new look in the bedroom…
but since I haven’t revealed everything yet-
(the chandelier FINALLY arrived a few days ago)
(the chandelier FINALLY arrived a few days ago)
I will share just a couple photos… and some of the summer blush that has
moved in this week.
moved in this week.
I am mildly crazy for blush anything.
Linens, lamps…you name it.
This lamp is a huge, huge favorite of mine.
And it has a gold lined shade.
Seriously.
In.Love.
You can find it here.
Moving outdoors –
I recently shared the refreshed look out on the patio
in this post HERE
but here is a peek.
and
and up in the apple orchard area-
is a small fire pit sitting area.
and those amazing lanterns pretty much find a way into many of my stylings.
You can find them HERE (and on sale)
That is about it for a peek at the summer stylings going on over here.
Once we clear out from the bathroom renovation (UGH) and bedroom update (so close!)
and the rain moves on out-
I will share much more.
Don’t forget to go take a peek at the other gorgeous summer stylings from my friends
shared on this tour:
On a side note:
You may have noticed a few changes going on with my email subscriptions
