Happy November 1st!
It is hard to believe that we are just a few short weeks away from Thanksgiving-
Friends and family and eating way too much mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
And that diet that will start the day after
the leftovers are enjoyed.
And while I am already decking the halls for Christmas
(I may have put 4 trees up yesterday… )
I am also getting ready for Thanksgiving and all the fun that brings
I am joining several friends and my Balsam Hill family
in sharing a simple elegant Thanksgiving table setting
as part of their
One that is full of the colors of autumn and the simple charms of the season
and that is so easy to recreate.
Thanksgiving was always my grandmothers holiday.
She hosted it every year and spent weeks planning and shopping and baking
to get ready for everyone.
And I can remember that car ride over the river and through the woods
and the delicious smell that filled her house as we walked in.
She always had those paper turkeys as the centerpiece
and I was fascinated by them layers and layers of honeycomb paper that fanned out.
And much the same when decorating a table for Thanksgiving here-
it starts with the centerpiece and the ambiance.
For this outdoor table, I kept the centerpiece simple but full of autumn charm.
It is simply an autumn garland from Balsam Hill laid right down the center of the table.
This is the Autumn Medley garland– which is full of warm autumn colors
pumpkins and blooms
and a whole lot of charm.
It creates a welcoming centerpiece all on it’s own-
but with a few candles tucked into it
it is perfect for adding that ambiance to your table.
These are LED candles that flicker just like real ones-
but without any of the fire danger and worry.
They are varying heights so I simply tucked these right into the foliage
all the way down the table for a little ‘mood lighting’.
On the plates- gold compotes with tiny white pumpkins – and napkins tied with jute and a fresh magnolia leaf place holder completes the look.
Simple & sweet.
