An old fashioned, childhood inspired Christmas is just perfect for the tiny tree that appears in the attic each Christmas.
I seem to always do something with vintage inspired or a child theme for this tree. Maybe it is the slanted wood walls or the beds tucked right under the eaves. Or the wee steep staircase that leads up to that charming room high above everything else.
It just always makes me think of holiday movies. Cocoa in hand and lots of fun waiting for Santa.
This year, I started decorating this tree- and then went in about 5 other directions with projects we are working on- but here is a peek at some of the sprinkle of Christmas magic appearing in the attic.
Glowing houses
One of my favorite things on this tree are these wee glowing houses. So enchanting! One of my favorite childhood books was the 14 Bears Summer and Winter – I can remember staring at those houses for hours and hours. And this little strand of houses lit up just makes me want to sit and peek in those windows and see what the houses look like. (yes, I do know there are no people living in them and no decorations haha- but they do inspire me.)
Scandinavian Inspired Ornaments
Another look at these ornaments that appeared on a different tree this year- these childhood themed ornaments are beautiful bold red and white and absolutely charming. I love the little wool animals and novelty touches like the lit snow globe for unique elements.
Vintage Ornaments
I mixed in a few of my red vintage ornaments along with vintage inspired red mercury glass ornaments. I have found that my most favorite trees are the ones with lots of baubles in different sizes.
Pretty packages
I will be sharing the simple wrapping paper I used for these packages very soon- it is getting so late in the Christmas game that I might have to do a few double posts but this one is SO easy and so charming. I tied them with simple jute string for a simple touch.
There are a few of these items available currently- so much has sold out already so fast this year- so go grab them if you want them! And the wee house garland is in stock as of right now AND on sale. 🙂
Yukon Spruce ( I used the frosted version which is sold out)
Stay tuned for a nighttime tour of this room and the house coming your way next week. Happy Thursday all!

I still love the headboards and the tree is sweet. The bear hanging on the hoop is adorable.
