French decor is definitely a huge part of my decorating style
when trimming trees or simply putting together a vignette in my home.
when trimming trees or simply putting together a vignette in my home.
One of my favorite ways to decorate is simple french cottage.
That means something different to everyone- but to me – it means floral fabrics mixed with whites
paired with weathered and worn furniture
and a Christmas tree that wears nothing but twinkly lights
and a couple well chosen ornaments.
and a Christmas tree that wears nothing but twinkly lights
and a couple well chosen ornaments.
A rustic, very worn bench that I brought in from the outdoors
a few months back serves as a simple table for holding a
plate of cookies, favorite design books and a couple favorite ornaments.
The gorgeous french inspired chair with it’s exposed framework
is a perfect compliment to the white sofas wearing a burlap colored linen fabric.
Another favorite touch – fresh greenery tucked in among pretty whites
in the buffet deux corps in the living room
This is a favorite antique cupboard of mine
and this year- in addition to sprigs of cedar and pine
I also added a few tangerines and nuts
For me- French Christmas touches are simple and elegant
and come from nature- like fresh garlands & potted trees.
Maybe it’s a fresh garland draped on a headboard
(more coming on this room soon)
Or a little tree in an antique basket
with red & white wrapped presents all around.
Simple and sweet
I also love small trees wrapped in burlap
and a quiet touch
like simple little wreaths on the backs of chairs
and greens in vintage silver
Of course, I love romantic little vignettes as well and you will find them
on a sideboard or dresser in our home
put together with pale pinks, whites and golds
and sprigs of fresh greenery
tucked in among baubles
I will be sharing more details in some of the rooms from the tour
and also will be sharing the little cottage wearing it’s Christmas best soon.
and the details on a gorgeous frosted tree and our bedroom on Friday.
See you then!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
