Did I mention that we moved that big old outdoor dining table
to under our covered patio last week?
to under our covered patio last week?
With 5 days of dumping rain on the calendar-
5 table settings with photography due dates fast approaching
and not to mention the shipping company of the flowers ordered
took them to the wrong address… in another state.
(Yes, seriously.)
5 table settings with photography due dates fast approaching
and not to mention the shipping company of the flowers ordered
took them to the wrong address… in another state.
(Yes, seriously.)
So the table was moved to the covered patio so I could work outdoors and harness that ambiance
even while it rained.
even while it rained.
I went to Whole Foods and lucked out at finding some ranunculus, roses & wax flower
for an in a pinch bouquet while I waited for the flowers to arrive
for an in a pinch bouquet while I waited for the flowers to arrive
and I came home and got to work.
I mentioned last week that this week would be the week of table settings…
and you might have noticed that I was not kidding.
😉
But I have to say that this one was so much fun to play with.
And don’t miss the surprise at the end of this post too.
Sometimes I am not 100% sure just exactly how a table setting will turn out.
I start to play with one element and then change my mind in favor of another
but in the end, the elements all come together.
I was thinking twinkle lights and candles flickering and simple charm for a centerpiece like that eucalyptus garland I shared recently and it kind of evolved from there.
This is the same eucalyptus garland that I shared last week
on the mantel in my office
but this time being used as a centerpiece garland.
I dotted it with a few tiny sprigs of fresh eucalyptus and wax flowers here and there.
I added several tall zinc wash candleholders to create a dramatic look marching down the table
and dotted the greens with small votives.
The place settings are simple and simple elegant.
Gold embellished glass chargers
layered with lacy plates
gold flatware
and topped with a single white ranunculus stem.
Did I say I was in love with this setting?
I am.
The centerpiece flowers were kept simple.
A small glass bottle filled with wax flowers
and a single container of white ranunculus and wax flower was perfect.
The rock fireplace backdrop adds another gorgeous element to this setting
and another opportunity to decorate the space.
But you may have noticed the twinkling lights in the distance in some of the photos.
I love outdoor string lighting dancing through the tree branches and for a whimsical touch
I added 3 led mercury glass stars.
Loving the ambiance the twinkling lights bring.
Oh… and yes, the flowers did finally find their way to the right delivery address
but they magically were mostly all a okay
which is testimony to the power of buying straight from the grower.

I love your table setting, especially those tall zinc wash candleholders. So elegant! I so enjoy the look of your home, and never thought I would see someone that loves flowers as much as I do. People used to think me foolish for spending money on flowers but they feed the soul, don't you think? And if they are fragrant, even better. Of course, you use them in your work, too, which is a good reason to buy them! I don't get them often anymore, but I surely do enjoy yours in your beautiful photographs. Thank you.
