12 Trees of Christmas- Tree 7 - Metallic & blue Christmas

Today is the 7th tree in our 12 Trees of Christmas- and it is all about those beautiful blues again.

Rich layers of shades of blues- navy, frosty blue, metallic blue and even a softer shade of denim blue. And the key to this look is in the metallic picks that set all those beautiful colors off.

Layers and more layers

This is a slim tree which is great for smaller rooms, homes and anywhere you want to place a tree that a full size tree won’t fit. And a bonus on decorating a slim tree- you can really special unique ornaments and really make them stand out since there is less ‘real estate’ you are decorating.

The key is layers. Starting with the base of feathery metallic plume picks- large ornaments, smaller ornaments and drops- and even a few mini -egg ornaments to finish it.

Bring out the bling

Those metallic picks really created a beautiful base for the ornaments and accented the green color of the tree perfectly.

Tip: Use any type of glitzy pick to add a bit of elegance and drama to your tree- those metallic touches absolutely sparkle and shine.

Pretty Ribbons

You can also bring in some of that bling with pretty glitter covered ribbons. I didn’t add too many sections to this tree- just a few were enough to give it the look and feeling I was after.

Tip: Cut ribbons into smaller sections that are easier to work with and tuck into the tree.

Underneath the tree

Underneath the tree- there is more area for decorating since the base of a slim tree is just that- slim. So layer on a beautiful skirt and stack those presents up for a custom look. I will be sharing some fun and unique present wrapping ideas next week- so stay tuned for that.

A little drama on top

Add some of that drama to the top of the tree with a beautiful metal star. I love this one because even though it is quite large- the look is airy and lets the tree take center stage.
