Weekend View

Welcome to the weekend view.

This week has been a mish-mash of rainy days and lots of behind the scenes work.

Delicate Details

I have been working on some photography jobs this weekend- one of them involves lots of delicate details, gilded gold beauties and those roses. Stay tuned for a post coming your way all about where to find mirrors that are similar to these to get the look in your own home.

Walking in the rain

We have had rainy days almost all week long- which can put a damper on that exercise routine when it is an outdoor inspired one. But a secret? I love to go out and exercise in the rain. A run while it is raining used to be one of my favorite things (before ankle roll in September) and so, my husband and I bundled up and grabbed an umbrella to get in our 5 miles each day. We thought we would be the only crazy folks out in the middle of the storm- but bumped into several neighbors doing the exact same thing. So we all decided we were not crazy after all.  :)

I did a post last week about organizing and got so many questions about my collections. I have a few tips and tricks of where to find, what to look for and how to start some of those collections and so, you have inspired a mini-series on collecting vintage coming your way in February.

Creating Cozy

Also coming your way- all about simple tips for creating a cozy home. I recently styled the greenhouse for HomeGoods to share a place for 'retreat' and have more to share on that subject.
Read my post at HomeGoods here.

Winter outdoors

I am not the biggest fan of winter outdoors to be honest. The trees are bare, the window boxes looking a bit plain- but come spring- things start perking up and blooming. This shot was from a couple of years ago for my book. I refilled window boxes and added a few potted plants to warm up the early spring landscape- and absolutely loved how it helped it feel more like spring- I am thinking I may do the same this year again.

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone.

  1. I love your blog and have your book. Where did you find that stunning gold ornate floor mirror? It's gorgeous.
