Warm sunshine filled days and evenings out under the stars- summer entertaining is here and I love it.
And while planning some fun this summer, it is bringing to mind all the summer party ideas and a look back at a favorite from my first book.
This year, the weather has been cooler in July- and that means that the lush foliage that has been appearing with all the rain will hopefully keep us looking green longer than we normally do here in California.
And that is always a good thing when entertaining outdoors.
I am keeping fingers crossed that the grass and gardens will be in full bloom and beautiful even longer and I am absolutely loving the milder summer weather.
And today, I am sharing a simple, easy and oh so charming idea for a summer party- because we have my daughter and Jio’s birthday this month and I thought why not chat about charming summer party ideas.
It started with a favorite beach bicycle and a handful of pretty balloons.
Charming Summer Party Ideas
Unique Idea for Summer Party Fun
I love the idea of welcoming guests in a unique way- with a charming sign or a banner. And for this party, I decided to place a beach bike in the yard with a grabbed a handful of balloons and tied them to the back of a beach bicycle. You can also add a sign if you would like with a greeting- and then simply place your bike by the front drive, near your entry or by the party table to greet guests as they arrive.
A bonus is that the bike is also a perfect photo prop for partygoers to enjoy. Just encourage guests to take a few fun snaps on the bike for memories.
This is one from a few years ago- my big goofy boys posed and took snaps for hours.
So much fun- and great memories.
Simplicity on the table
For the table styling for this summer party idea- I kept it simple.
A few more balloons tied to a chair
and place settings with layers of pretty dishes
just waiting for a slice of cake.
Pretty packages tied with twine are a favorite thing- I love the mix of a little fancy and rustic.
A tip is to place them on the table for a sweet touch and decoration.
For treats- a cutting board loaded up with cheese, crackers, nuts and fruits is a simple and easy way to set out snacks for guests to nibble on and flowers in vintage decanters
and bottles march down the table with a few candles creating a centerpiece.
And for dessert- a decadent and delicious feast for the eyes as well as enjoying-
a 5 layer chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and figs and berries tastes incredible.
