Have I mentioned that I am currently obsessed with velvet pillows? There is something about velvet in fall and winter that just seems to make everything more cozy and inviting. Velvet pillows are perfect for cozy season and all year long. And they are a perfect accessory in any room.
This week, this post is a bit of Friday favorites, Wandering and finds from the week combined. And it is all about cozy as we start the cozy month of October.
Velvet Love
I added beautiful champagne blush velvet pillows to the living room this summer and love the warmth that their tone brings. I also love the softness and sheen of the velvet and how it really warms up the crisp linen slipcovers. Get the Look: Blush Velvet Pillows
I also added that chunky tufted velvet coverlet to the bed last year and have been obsessed ever since. Though the color is darker than my usual look- I love how it adds a bit of drama to this room that is usually just full of layers of neutrals and florals. Side note- I am getting excited to put up a twinkling tree here soon! Get the Look: Blue Velvet Quilt
And of course- these gold velvet pillows that bring a bit of warmth for autumn by the fire pit. Velvet isn’t just for indoors in my opinion.
All in the Details
You can imagine when I saw these beautiful velvet pillow covers covered in delicious details, I went a little crazy. They have the most charming vintage look. The colors were perfect beautiful shades that weren’t too saturated. And the crochet and cotton edging just took the cake. They could not go in my cart fast enough. The hardest part was deciding just which color to go with for a seasonal change in the living room.
Ultimately, I ordered a couple of each color not knowing what they would look like in person. When they arrived- I did a big old happy dance in the living room. And can I tell you the best part of these vintage inspired beauties? The PRICE is incredible. Linking each of them below.
Gray Green
Obsessed doesn’t say enough for how I feel about this soft sage green color. Perfectly vintage gray green – much like those old faded colors you would see in quilts and florals.
Lovely Lavender
It is a dusty lavender -just a bit of a ‘dust’ to tone down the purple. It is beautiful- though not sure just yet where these will land.
Beautiful Blue
A periwinkle vintage denim kind of blue. Lovely if you are looking for blues and different shades to layer in your room.
Blushing Vanilla
I mean- when I saw this one pop up as available- I knew I would love it. So I ordered several.
These to me in the light in our home are such a barely blushing dusty rosy cream kind of color. A slight tint of gray hued blush that takes them from simple white to a rosy toned loveliness.
You can kind of see it come through a bit more in the shadows. The top is the Sage Green color- the bottom two are the Cream. I am Literally obsessed with these colors and feel a whole new look coming inspired by them.

Where to use Velvet in your home
So now that we have covered these deliciously delightful velvet pillow covers- where should you incorporate velvet into your home? The easy answer is Anywhere. haha. But let’s delve further in.
On the Sofa
Use them as accent pillows and in throws for a cozy warm touch all year long. Mix them with patterned pillows for more interest- or textured pillows like Turkish Kilim pillows for more vintage charm.
In the Bedroom
On the bed in pillows, quilts and duvets- either in another layer of your favorite colors- or a pop of an unexpected color.
I also love to add pillows on bedroom chairs. If you don’t have larger chairs in the bedroom to accommodate full size pillows- use lumbar pillows for a similar look.
Dining Room
Velvet on the table in runners, napkins & tablecloths are a delicious seasonal touch. These velvet cloths are from my shop- I am going to try to get a few in for the holiday season- orders and shipping has been a bit of a bear this year and we are waiting on the linen slipcovers that were ordered in spring to arrive even now.
Under the Tree
Oh yes, I mentioned that I am already in Christmas mode over here – so velvet under the tree is a good thing. This is a blush velvet tree skirt that is a favorite from years ago – I also have a delicious bold burgundy red velvet skirt and French Blue skirt that I adore.
On the Patio
I realize if you don’t have a covered patio area- you may want to stick with weather-resistant pillows and fabrics for everyday year round use. But, I love to bring out a few velvet pillows to cozy up the sofa or chairs outdoors as well. You can just put them away when you are finished entertaining.
Upholstery
One of my favorite ways to bring a little velvet luxury into a room is with upholstery.
Not talking about crazy velvet here her folks- I am talking little vintage chairs in rich upholstery, a settee with beautiful gilding and creamy velvet fabric, etc.
I hope this inspires you to add a little velvet to your home this cozy season.
Happy Thursday all.

These pillow covers are fabulous. I love velvet if it is soft and mushy. These look like they fit the bill. Are they machine washable Courtney?
Courtney says
They are a cotton velvet cover- smooth and soft. I am super happy with them. I think you could make the pillows as squishy as you would like depending on which insert you use.

Hi Courtney…..Just wondering what size insert you used and did you use a feather down or synthetic one?
Courtney says
Hi Tracey, I used some pillows on hand already- synthetic down.

I’m sure you are already familiar with them but have you ever seen the linens (velvet) from Bella Notte? They have gorgeous faded shades in all colors. I have several of their velvet throws, pillows, and spreads and just love them. I did order 3 of these in the light beige for one of my white sofas. Its nice to find something that looks this good without the high dollar price tag that you can mix and match. Thanks for sharing
