Last week ~ I shared the little refresh for our front door that I did with Lowes
A little glossy black paint, some new address numbers and lots of plants for the window boxes.
I got so many email questions about the door basket that I put on the front door – so this morning
I thought I would share how simple it is to make one of those hanging planter baskets for your own door
to add a little charm and pop of color to welcome friends in.
Every year we buy several large hanging baskets at Lowes
for the guest cottage as well as the front of the house.
Spring spruce up every year
The hanging flower baskets usually come in plastic containers but one year
found some that were in really charming wire and wicker cone baskets.
So after the plants were done blooming- we saved the baskets to reuse.
We just set the new hanging baskets in their plastic containers
inside the wire basket and call it good.
They fit perfectly inside and keeping them in their original container
also helps keep the baskets from rotting too quickly.
For the door basket I took one of those baskets and simply bent one side of it so
that it would lay flat against the door.
I planted it with several small geraniums and placed it on a wreath hanger
Instant love.
