What is it about warm sunshine and summer weather that makes me think of dining out under the stars. Or sipping coffee as the sun comes up. Outdoor living is a big part of our lives here- and we try to spend a lot of time enjoying the garden and other areas all year long. Today I am sharing a small table in the garden. And I am also sharing more about our linens that are BACK in stock – but just briefly. The market will only be open for a short time. More on that below.
Sunday Breakfast View
It was a busy weekend- moving our middle guy and his wife into their new rental. They have been in apartments since they have been together and they found a 3 bedroom home to rent about 10 minutes from where they were living. So, I didn’t get to do as much garden sitting this weekend as we planned- but we did get out and enjoy breakfast and dinner at this table.
We usually sit out by the lion fountain with coffee in the morning but the other day, my husband made breakfast and we wandered right on out the garden to enjoy. I usually have a shake for breakfast honestly- but when we have something like baked burritos for dinner- my husband likes to make his versions of vegetarian chilaquiles for breakfast the next day. Basically, leftovers with eggs, avocado, cilantro, veggies and salsa. It is so delicious and it is one of the breakfasts that I will skip my shake for.
And breakfast in the garden is even prettier when the table is set with a cloth and fresh cut flowers.
3 things for instant charm on the table
You can set a pretty table in a snap – and with just a couple of things take an ordinary table to charming and inviting.
#1. A Tablecloth
I love a bare tabletop and all the patina and charm it brings- but when I want to elevate the feeling of the table just a bit- bring out the linens.
I love this beautiful blushing vintage rose tablecloth- and paired with garden roses and stacks of white dishes- it is a lovely little garden table scene.
#2. Fresh Flowers
Always a pop of instant pretty on the table- place a few fresh flowers to add as a centerpiece. Even small vases full of fresh flowers will bring big charm to the table.
#3. Silver Flatware & Grandma’s Dishes
Bring out those special pieces like your grandmothers dishes and silver flatware. Don’t think of them as just special occasion pieces- think of them as everyday occasion pieces and enjoy them.
More on this table coming soon!
Linens Restock
Remember when I shared these pretty little linens last year? Tablecloths and chair slipcovers with lots of long loose ruffle beauty.
French Linen Collection
Did you know that I had ordered the linens in early spring last year? They should have arrived about 6 weeks later- but it took them over 8 months to get here. And it isn’t looking too promising for getting the next restock any sooner than autumn right now with all the supply chain problems. But the good news? I was able to get a limited amount of them in stock and available to ship right now.
I opened the shop yesterday and it will be open for purchases for the next week or so. Since photographing the blush tablecloth in the garden yesterday- the tablecloths have already sold out- but there are some chair slipcovers in both colors available currently- along with signed copies of my books.
Chair Slipcovers
I use our chair slipcovers every day in our dining room. They are a simple and elegant way to dress up your everyday chairs- and add a lovely romantic touch.
Linen slipcovers on the chairs instantly changes the feeling of the dining room. The oversized drape and loose ruffles add a touch of romance and charm.
